The day of His return to reign and imagining peace for at least a thousand years is where I go for hope and joy. Heaven and earth being one is exciting, but knowing that someday there will be towns full of laughter between kids and the elderly enjoying themselves is blissful.

One sentence exploded off the page for me a couple of weeks ago...

“...understand that I am He.”

in context from Isaiah 43 vs 10

“You are My witnesses,” declares the LORD,
And My servant whom I have chosen,
In order that you may know and believe Me,
And understand that I am He.
Before Me there was no God formed,
And there will be none after Me.”

“...understand that I am He.”

I always knew that Jesus is just like the Father, and will on that day of His return fulfill the wrath of God, but didn’t actually attribute the love of Jesus as being like God. Not having a loving father, I understand my inability to make the transference, but now it is easier.
