People have been asking me about what the Pope has been allegedly saying to that divorced and civilly remarried Argentinian woman.
Jesus said, "Every one who puts away his wife and marries another commits adultery; and every one that marries one put away from a husband commits adultery". Now, I cannot imagine anyone who loves Christ and his teaching, saying to this poor woman, 'Jesus, says one thing but I teach something that is opposite to Jesus, follow me because I am greater than Jesus Christ'.
Now, simply, that would be anti-Christ and a diabolic blasphemy, so the poor woman is either mistaken or lying.
Perhaps someone in the Vatican needs clarify things and our beloved Holy Father needs to stop making these silly telephone calls that lead to confusion, and seriously damage people's faith. Vatileaks were bad enough but these phone calls are a thousand times more dangerous.
So, what, he is supposed to stop ministering to people in distress just because they may misunderstand what he is saying to them?
By that standard every Priest, Minister and Rabbi on the planet needs to retire right now.
Well that's god to know.
My ex-wife put me away for a computer repair man she met on the Internet. My new wife put her cheating ex-husband away.
So technically neither of us committed adultery.
Either that, or he's not supposed to say anything without his lawyer being present.
They brought a woman who had been caught in the act of adultery to Jesus to test him. What did Jesus do? Did He condem her? No He didn’t. After writing in the sand, He asked the one without sin to cast the first stone. When they had all gone away, He told her to go and sin no more. So any church that is really part of the body of Christ will forgive those who repent of their sins.
The woman in Argentina continues to live in sin.
When Jesus was asked how many times you should forgive your brother when he sins against you, what did He say?
What did Jesus say to the adulteress at the well?
“Go and sin no more”.

How long do you go without sinning?
How long do you go without sinning?
You have nothing to be concerned about because only Luke is being quoted here we need to look at more than just one scripture to understand. Matthew 5:32 tells us “But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, makes her the victim of adultery, and anyone who marries a divorced woman commits adultery.”
Their is a clause here one might call it a ‘let out’ clause.
I have seen NOTHING that would indicate this woman misunderstood or misrepresented what the Pope told her. On the contrary what this women is saying the Pope told her corresponds exactly with Cardinal Kasper's recent talk to the meeting of Cardinals, a talk he was appointed by the Pope to present and for which the Pope praised his serene and pastoral theology.
I see an awful lot of wishful thinking among the defenders of this Pope but very little reason to believe the wishful thinkers are anything more than that. The body of evidence before us points to this woman having honestly and mostly correctly reported what the Pope said to her.
After the Synod on the Family this fall, the debate will be over. I truly hope I'm a BIG loser in this debate but I fear the Pollyanna's will be gravely disappointed.
I have little enough respect for the press as it is. There are some figures they cover where I’m literally at the point of “pics/audio/video or it didn’t happen”. One of them is Sarah Louise Palin. Another is Pope Francis.
