How many people I met claimed to be saved while screwing behind their wife’s back. Too many. Prayer and living the life is what gets you there. Not talk or mental assent. Peace to you.

Read the Bible, that is what God “said.” Done with this thread baby. Somehow anything anyone says opens a hornet’s nest, right, wrong or lame. I will seriously consider ever replying again. Proverbs 23:9 : Don’t waste your breath on fools, for they will despise the wisest advice.

Talk sense to a fool and he calls you foolish.
Euripides (484 BC - 406 BC)

I repent for posting this. Gone, good bye.

I’m confused. Are some posters claiming, as it appears, that Jesus saved us all for all time, regardless of how evil we might be, how unrepentant, whether we believe or not, we’re headed to Heaven? Or, is it the case that by His death and resurrection, He did allow us to choose by our faith to be saved, to enter Heaven?

...even when God says "no" to our requests, we are receiving protection from something that could potentially hurt our chance at salvation!

The greatest example of this is Jesus' prayer at Gethsemane. If Father gave Jesus what Jesus had requested ("let this cup pass from me"), Jesus would have lost it all: His own salvation, including His seat at the right hand of God, the authority over Heaven and Earth, and His ability to save each and everyone of us.

The article is about prayering for professing Christians then it got into " I am a Christian prayer and your not....." I personally prayer and I get answers in the Holy Spirit. A humble and contrite heart he will not ignore. I have gotten profound answers through prayer.

Peace in Christ.

So can you go out an commit a murder and still be saved? No.

On the cross, Jesus told the robber who expressed faith that he (the robber) would be with Him in Paradise.

The thief was truly repentant towards Christ. That’s the point she is trying to make........ true repentence. Peace in Christ

The Good Thief had a Baptism of Desire AND a Baptism of Blood on his Cross. And he was humble enough to ask Jesus, “Remember me when you come into your kingdom.”

And Jesus replied, because of the man’s repentance, “Today you will be with me in paradise.”

The good thief took responsibility for his actions — we must do that too. We can’t let everything depend on Jesus. We have to ask for forgiveness and be repentant too.

Another reason that OSAS is a false doctrine.

A good quote from tomorrow’s Gospel (Jesus talking):

‘I tell you most solemnly,

we speak only about what we know

and witness only to what we have seen

and yet you people reject our evidence.

If you do not believe me when I speak about things in this world,

how are you going to believe me when I speak to you about heavenly things?

Nothing brings serenity and peace-of-mind like prayer does.

OSAS is a false doctrine.

If you could loose eternal life ... it wouldn't be eternal now would it?

Or do you reject the permanent indwelling of true Christian believers by the Holy Spirit? For if you hold that you can loose eternal life ... then it is possible for a person to UNDUE the regeneration process. And since regeneration is a NT miracle ... the undoing of regeneration has to be miraculous as well. There is nothing in the NT text that describes any miracle of un-regeneration.

Perhaps your confusion is in understanding what regeneration is ...
