Atheists to launch the first TV channel dedicated to godlessness

Believe it.

A New Jersey-based atheist group is starting the first on-demand TV channel dedicated to godlessness.

AtheistTV will be launching this summer with big plans to reach out to atheists, humanists, freethinkers, and folks who are looking for a way out of faith.

Members of American Atheists, the organization behind the endeavor, think it’s about time.

“There’s a glut of religious TV programming out there, from televangelists to Christmas specials,” spokesman Dave Muscato told The News. “But there’s no atheist channel. We wanted to fill that void.”

But there’s no atheist channel. We wanted to fill that void.

Wait. What? Then why are there a million porn channels? And what, exactly, would you call today's network programing? An ode to godly living? Pffft...

Why does this remind me of “Air America” and the (pardon the pun) abortive “Church of Atheists” which fell apart in a matter of weeks?

It won’t be the first. I don’t think it will be a raving success.

Completely. Totally. 100% redundant with everything else out of Hollywood.

No change at all.

Shows like “Modern Family” are just propaganda for normalizing homosexuality.

I don’t get it. If they don’t believe in something, then what is to talk about? I think talk will get old pretty quick just saying how much they don’t believe in god. If they don’t believe in god, why do they even need to talk about something that doesn’t exist in the first place?

Looking for a way out of faith? How hard can that be? No, actually, they’re just hoping to do as much mockery and ridicule as they can on this Earth.

...folks who are looking for a way out of faith

Because, you see, faith is oppressing them, hounding them, won't let them rest. "There's got to be a way out of this faith," they cry. And then, there it is: Atheist TV, the way to freedom.

And as a result, they are...

Saved!

Er, I mean...

Uh, Dave? If you "fill that void" it won't be atheism anymore.

Godless people have a void they need filling. How ironic.

You can thank Pat Robertson for selling the Family Channel
(IFE-publicly traded) which was sold for 1.9 billion dollars and ultimately now in Disney’s hands with trashy programming. Not exactly family friendly (and probably not what the initial shareholders had in mind). Currently the 700 Club in the evening is sandwiched between shows that in my opinion do not even begin to promote family values. I guess it’s all about the $$$$$$$$$.

The irony of unintended consequences will be the renewal of faith for people wandering in the wilderness of television addiction, boredom and political correctness.

Our Father has decided to use television to undo the sins of the past several decades by using these flame throwers to draw attention to the fire of faith.

God is Great.
