No, not like Paul...though I see what you mean. I’m talking about Christians who go from movement to movement and want to teach others based on their newest earth-shattering discovery. Paul is the antithesis of what I meant. He was and is rock-solid as ever!

**was rock solid**?

Good grief, Paul hated Christians and had them killed!

If that’s your definition of rock solid, we’re in trouble.

Salvation, I’m referring to believers. Paul was not a spiritual flake. He preached “Christ crucified” and did not waver, falling for every wind and doctrine. Alex Jones goes from a preacher in a Pentecostal church to a deacon in the Catholic church. No biggie, huh?

““There is spiritual conversion and ecclesial conversion. I was the latter. I was a Christian before I became Catholic,” says Jones...

Now how does THAT work? My point stands, as I consider the people who sat under this man in the Pentecostal church. He is an adventurer and shouldn’t be teaching others. Considering some of the bizarre teachings of Pentecostalism, I’m surprised Catholics trust his fealty to their doctrine.

Actually, it IS a “biggie.” It involves a serious process known as the Catechumenate, a time of discernment, prayer and education, for anyone seeking to understand or to become a member of the Catholic Church. Candidates will opt to process through four stages: the Pre-catechumenate, the Catechumenate, the Period of Purification and Enlightenment, and the Period of Mystagogy. This is all known as the RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation).

Entering the Catholic Church is a big step; it is literally a life changing experience, and one which shouldn’t be entered into lightly, nor should anyone ever feel pushed or coerced into becoming a Catholic because they are married to or going to marry a Catholic, or because of the expectations of in-laws, or because it is easier to enrol children into Catholic schools. Like any family, it is always exciting and a great privilege to have new members arriving, thus there is no doubt that a new candidate is welcome, but this needs to be something that the individual believes to be a calling from God.

The process may seem long and sometimes complicated, but it really is a great joy... in the true sense of that word.

Thank you for explaining that graciously...when I was being wry. I’ll level with you and admit I find Catholicism labyrinthine and unscriptural in so many instances.

My original posting raised an issue with Christian teachers who have paradigm shifts. My thought is they should bow out of teaching until they get sorted. It is confusing for those under them.

Yep...that is exactly what I mean... i.e. one god

I have no problem with that...

You can have 1,2,3,or many other Gods.. same problem..
Saying you know something you have no prayer of knowing..
If you know your God, then faith becomes obsolete..
Example: Moses had no need of faith he knew his God directly..
He needed faith in “the people”..

And if your faith is a delusion you become ridiculous..
After all who knows God?... I know of no one..
Knowing of God or about God is not knowing God..

My point is having faith is more important than knowing God..
Even IF that faith is misplaced.. or in error..
Who is not in error in some ways.. in their God search?..

Should give many tolerance for others.. BUT it does not...
The hubris of knowing God.. many times makes mean people..
other times it makes loving but pathological people..

Because most I know or have known refuse to admit they do not know God.. some do a very few..
Most fool themselves.. and demand you act like you’re fooled as well.. upon penalty of _____..

Like in the garden of Eden people simply refuse to admit they are not very smart.. easily fooled..
and want things not good for them..

Mainly it seems to me, we are HERE to choose what we are willing to have faith in..
having faith in nothing is not possible..

So what if what others have faith in what is not as “accurate” as what you think you have faith in?..

At least they have faith in something...
People can be stupid, some more stupid than others..
Can only the “smart” ones be saved/rescued/honored?..

Next question who is dumb?.. and who is the dumbest?.
Are you dumb?.. How dumb are you?..

Do you care for the dumb ones?.. or demand they be as dumb as you?..
because surely others think you’re dumber than they are.. are they correct.?.

OR are they the dumb ones?.. and you’re smarter than they?..

Who is the most accurate ones?... i.e. if any..
And .... you know...... Who is retarded?..

Love Deacon Jones’ speaking style, very down-to-earth, practical, and audience-engaging.
