“Dad, I’m gay.”

Time for a DNA test.

Mohler got it right: There is no third way.
Waving hands and saying prayers over people does not change the sinfulness of their behavior. (My comment)

Ah, homos... They are simply tools.

A tool of the left to criminalize Christianity,
and used by Christ as His “winnowing fork”, separating the wheat from the chaff.

his 15-year-old son ...responded with an even more direct word to his father: “Dad, I’m gay.”

Oh yes, in Mexico 15 year old girls celebrate becoming a little woman..

in America 15 year old boys tell their Dad’s that they are homosexual..

Its all relative...

Shortly thereafter, he told his 15-year-old son that he “no longer believed what he used to believe.” His son responded with an even more direct word to his father: “Dad, I’m gay.” As Cortez writes, “My heart skipped a beat and I turned towards him and we gave one another the biggest and longest hug as we cried. And all I could tell him was that I loved him so much and that I accepted him just as he is.”

Yeah, right! He had no clue his son was gay, just announced his change of heart and presto, out of the closet!

Meanwhile, the Methodists edge nearer to an outright denominational split over this issue and progressive Methodists’ disruptive radicalism, born of their inability to change the church’s teaching on it.

We will choose to remain the body of Christ and not cast judgement.

I don't have to judge homosexuality. God has already judged it to be a sin.

We also know that the law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, for the sexually immoral, for those practicing homosexuality, for slave traders and liars and perjurers—and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine that conforms to the gospel concerning the glory of the blessed God, which he entrusted to me.

The words of Paul to Timothy. I will trust Paul over Cortez.

Up to a point, God reacted to ALL mankind just the way Cortez did with his son. He loved each and every human with an unimaginable love. But sin was sin and it could not be overlooked. Sin brings on death and alienation from God. So God offered up his one and only Son to die a cruel, miserable, shameful death on the cross, bearing the sin and shame of all men for all times.

But outside of repentance, turning from his sin, and acceptance of Jesus Christ as Savior, Mr. Cortez's son has NO hope . . . just like me. Unfortunately, what the latter part of chapter 1 of Romans says is that homosexuality is a sign of a person's rejection of God. Mr. Cortez changing his mind makes not one nit of a difference to anything, except maybe his on relationship to God.

I’m gonna hazard a guess here that this “pastor” was not ruminating on the beach without a cause that put the thought in his mind. In this case, the cause was his own child where the father had suspicions and indications that he could not face. This is simple human rationalization and it’s been the First Way of humans over the entire span of time. Not likely to change, either...

Well said and right on point. Worth repeating.

Go get ‘em Al.

The sad thing is pastors who flip their Biblical positions because of their own children. If they hold fast to the Biblical teaching they should step down.

I’m Southern Baptist and every church is autonomous. I’ll have to check on the Association Bylaws.

If the Convention goes along to get along. . .I’m leaving the denomination.

So if the son had said “dad I’m an adulter” he would have cried and changed his mind on that?
Or “dad I am a pedophile”
What a weak man, who so easily turns his back on God’s Word.
