I married into a Catholic family. I still say they are wrong about communion. They say I’m wrong about communion. You know what? We still get together on Christmas and Easter to celebrate as a family the birth, death, burial and resurrection. No hate here.

"...It's one of those things that is so obvious, there is no need to mention it."

Same as the sinlessness of Mary then?

I didn’t say you were a hater. I said you were the epitome of Shavian wit.

When our church takes Communion, time is spent reflecting upon our lives. Those who take Communion unworthily sin against the Lord and can actually die a premature death.

Communion is a solemn ceremony to remember what Christ did for us on Calvary. He gave His all for us. We should never take Him lightly.

The Bible says Mary was “highly favored”, not sinless.

And the Bible says Jesus’s flesh is food indeed, not food in symbol.

Shaving Witt... I take that as a mixed compliment.

“full of grace” would mean no sin within her.

You are using a modern translation of the Bible.

Most think Sheen was a kook. And, thus the sentiment for the Roman Church is real.

Well, Jesus said it was real. Far be it from me to suggest otherwise.

You must know my daughter. She tells me that my humor is pathetic all the time (but I keep trying anyway).

Just two questions:
  1. If Jesus is truly in the bread and wine, wouldn't that be sacrificing Himself over and over and over again? Wasn't His sacrifice on thh cross enough?
  2. Why would Jesus be in the bread and wine if He lives in each and every believer first?

"You sound foolish."

Really? Go look at the picture and be honest. The romanist fraud is so full of errant doctrine that anyone who buys their homemade religion is, well, beyond foolish.

“The wording in the Bible is clear...”

Why do Catholics and other denominations have closed Communion? Each person is to decide for himself if he is worthy to take Communion.

1 Corinthians 11:27-31
So then, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord. 28 Everyone ought to examine themselves before they eat of the bread and drink from the cup. 29 For those who eat and drink without discerning the body of Christ eat and drink judgment on themselves. 30 That is why many among you are weak and sick, and a number of you have fallen asleep. 31 But if we were more discerning with regard to ourselves, we would not come under such judgment.

Funny.

A bit sad in your unnecessary defensiveness.

Except 4 verses later in 63 Jesus says he was speaking spiritually.

I’m not sure why you are claiming? Are you, or the Catholic Church, saying the wine is actual blood with erythrocytes and lymphocytes and cytokines etc...?

No, I’m always offensive; not defensive.

I just find it weird that non-Catholics bother their pretty little heads over Catholic doctrine. It would never occur to me to go on some Protestant thread and pick apart all the various beliefs. Catholics are sort of like Americans when it comes to other countries - we just don’t care that much about other religions.

The Eucharistic is most certainly only symbolic in all Protestant services.

However, in Catholic Masses, :
