Praying for peace in the Holy Land alongside leaders of long-antagonistic nations, Pope Francis called on God to act where human efforts had failed, to end what he described as violence inspired by the devil.
More than once we have been on the verge of peace, but the evil one, employing a variety of means, has succeeded in blocking it, the pope said June 8 at an evening ceremony in the Vatican Gardens. That is why we are here, because we know and we believe that we need the help of God.
The pope addressed his remarks to Israeli President Shimon Peres and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas during an invocation for peace in the Holy Land, to which he had invited them during his visit to the region two weeks earlier.
I was young, now I am old. I experienced war, I tasted peace, Peres said in an English portion of his statement. Never will I forget the bereaved families, parents and children, who paid the cost of war. And all my life I shall never stop to act for peace for the generations to come. Lets all of us join hands and make it happen.
The event, at which Christians, Muslims and Jews prayed in each others presence, was almost certainly the first of its kind at the Vatican, according to Jesuit Father Federico Lombardi, director of the Holy See Press Office.

No, as I said, the pope is supposed to be repeating God’s instructions by divine inspiration. Being God’s mouthpiece does not make you God or even god, just the messenger. Of course, that hasn’t always worked in practice as there have been many papal edicts that have been overturned.

It sure would be nice if the Pope could bring peace to the Middle East just not at Israel’s expense.

Calling him God incarnate is OT. This discussion is supposed to be about the Antichrist. ;-)

We get it you are anti catholic and the Pope is Satan, a popular view these days and one that hardly sets you apart as enlightened.
The pope has spoken the truth, if God wills peace in the middle east as part of humanity’s story than it will be so. It really is that easy.

Looks like the Pope never heard of free will. There will be peace only when all those involved freely choose to stop killing, and to work for peace.
Blaming the devil doesn’t solve the problem. It’s humans acting out of their free will who choose evil over good.

Requesting a clarification, if you know the answer. Is the pope the only Roman Catholic with this ability? In other words, my main question is...
What makes the pope different than any true believer in the Lord Jesus Christ?

God bless Pope Francis!

Apparently it is a bit difficult for you or you wouldn’t be engaging in this thread, unless of course you are motivated by narcissism.
