Progressive Christian blogger John Shore has condemned this stance, however, writing that the proposal suggests transgender people are "crazy" and "delusional", and if only they would "pray more they'd stop being transgender".

They no doubt have been by the one who seeks to deceive even if possible the believers in Christ. Crazy? I would say very mentally ill in some cases. Other cases are likely self pleasure. Delusional? You betcha. You can put a pink ribbon on a pig and paint it's toe nails and call it a poodle if you wish. It is still a pig. Homosexuals, Transgenders, serial heterosexual sexual relationships {non commitments} with differing persons are all symptoms of ones needing help both mental health wise and spiritual help. The obtaining help is a choice the individual has to make. Should churches have missions to minister to such? Yes. Missions and teaching to others who as of yet are non repenting is one thing, embracing their beliefs and acceptance as being church members is quite another.

National acceptance of homosexuality as normal is the beginning of the end of such a nation. It means national morality has collapsed.

Fortunately, the SBC exists to support missions and seminaries, although I’m a bit upset to find out the seminaries are using CP funds to support secular degrees. Our local congregation hasn’t changed its stance on homosexuality, and agrees with the resolution passed on transgendered & mutilation.

But since the problem of a congregation accepting homosexual activity as sinless was brought up, the SBC had a need to take action - if only to say it would investigate the facts further and make a recommendation next year. While there is no need to act on press accounts, there is also no need to pretend nothing has happened.

However; there is NO sin that will keep a person away of heaven but the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit.

If a person DOES get him/her self maimed by choice; and then comes to realize what a mistake has occurred; there IS forgiveness.

Dealing with the plumbing problems WILL be a big challenge; but, with GOD’s help, can be dealt with.

People maimed by accidents would have quite similar problems as a truly repentant person who was maimed by choice.

I’m not familiar with the structure of the SBC or what authority they have over individual assemblies. Either way if they make no definitive stand they are on shaky ground.

The assemblies of the New Testament were all local and people had better begin to find and meet with only those who stand firm on scripture with Jesus alone as their hope.
