Are We Living in the End Times?
http://www.patheos.com ^ | June 13, 2013 | Fr. Dwight Longenecker

In the fundamentalist Bible church I attended as a child we would regularly have long sermons about the “end times”. These were based on an interpretative system of the Bible called “Dispensationalism”.

The roots of this theology were the idea that history could be broken down into various “dispensations” or time periods and that God behaved differently and different things happened to the human race in these different dispensations. Part of this teaching was that the “rapture” would take place in which all the Christian people would be supernaturally whisked up into heaven and the sinners would remain behind. Thus the “Left Behind” series of books and films.

We are them most important people who ever lived, so of course the end times would come when we are here.

It's pointless for the world to go on without us.

Are We Living in the End Times?

Yes, it's indisputable. Pentecost proves it.

Acts 2: 14 Then Peter stood up with the Eleven, raised his voice and addressed the crowd: "Fellow Jews and all of you who live in Jerusalem, let me explain this to you; listen carefully to what I say. 15 These men are not drunk, as you suppose. It's only nine in the morning! 16 No, this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel: 17 " 'In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. 18 Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy. 19 I will show wonders in the heaven above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and billows of smoke. 20 The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord. 21 And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.'

Good description of the last age before the end, the Laodicean Church age described by Jesus to the Apostle John in Revelation 3:14-22. The description also matches end-time or near-end-time signs spoken of in other parts of the Bible.

There is certainly no doubt that the US has seen a dramatic change over the last ten years, and much more so since Obozo came to the throne.
It, in no way, resembles the country of 2008, when I was last there.

Actually, a whole bunch of us are. If you receive Jesus Christ and hang around long enough, you'll get a free ride to Heaven escorted by the Lord Himself when he comes to take his own.

I wouldn’t presume to know what Christ Himself did not.

LOL! You nailed it! Is it possible a more self-centered bunch ever lived than are living today? Instead of being blessed with the John Wayne “I’m going in” types; we are plagued with “Beam me up outta here, Scottie.”

All of these social evil existed in every period of the past, but they were largely compartmentalized geographically and culturally, leaving pockets of Judeo-Christian culture to survive to pick up the pieces when the libertines eventually destroyed themselves.

The historically unprecedented, relatively recent development of global communication and travel has made our current situation completely different. Now, we can export Western perversion with ease. If fact we are imposing this decadence on even obscure, remote African nations - at the point of a gun. The old cycle is no longer relevant.

Homosexual “marriage” has never been condoned by any civilization. Marriage has always been been for the survival of the species. Anal sex does not produce children.

“Wars and rumors of wars”

“Great earthquakes in diverse places”

“Men rushing to and fro”

“Knowledge shall be increased”

These Scripture quotes point to the End Times. Should you believe them? This Catholic does!

At least in my church, one of the big marks of the end-times is near universal rebellion to God’s laws. I think we’re close to that now.

Are We Living in the End Times?

I suggest we are and I will tell you why.

I am an investor in biotech stocks. It's what I do for a living now that I am retired. I have followed this industry since the advent of Genentech. In fact, I was at the Genentech dog and pony show for its IPO.

Okay...now the reason why this is the "End Times."

Humans are about to be transformed...not just trannies, but chimera and a thousands of different iterations...none of which are mentioned in the Bible. And the Bible leaves nothing out.

We are entering a territory which is beyond Revelation.

Which means that Revelation will come to pass before this next world is formed.

Hang on to your hat.

The manure is hitting the fan.

Oh...and did I mention that nuclear weapons can destroy the world many times over...and there are muslims who would pull that trigger...in the Name of Allah. And the President of the Greatest country in the history of the world is a muslim.

That sounds like air travel and the internet.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, “…then we who are alive, who are left, shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air;…”

First, this IS the Second Coming of Christ, which clearly follows the Tribulation, and not an event preceding or interrupting the Tribulation.

Second, it is very public and audible, rather than secret or hidden from those not “raptured”.
