Pope Francis, whose criticisms of unbridled capitalism have prompted some to label him a Marxist, said in an interview published on Sunday that communists had stolen the flag of Christianity.

Sort of like Pope John Paul II, Ronald Reagan, Margaret Thatcher in reverse! And only 30 years on.

>> “The pope is saying charity, Christian charity, was adopted by Marxists turned athiest and corrupted. Charity is still Christian even if marxists pervert it.” <<

.
Marxists have no charity, but that that flows out of the barrel of a gun.

You don’t like the glad-handing, fake bonhomie Dolan? The guy I saw off-camera snapping his fingers at a Today Show flunky to bring him a coffee or a donut?

When I think of Cardinal O’Connor, I just get heartsick.

It is never about love for the poor for them. How can I be so sure? People of love do not have so much blood on their hands. These people are motivated by hated, jealousy, etc. These are unhappy people. Wolves in sheep’s clothing. They are full of hate for the rich and successful. They are so unhappy that they want to tear down and tear apart those that tey se as being happy, successful, well off.

Remember the Pope’s South America heritage vs. the European heritage that most Popes have come from.

There’s Plain Stupid, Tactical Stupid, Strategic Stupid, and Thermonuclear Stupid.

Surely a pope would have a higher grade of stupid than “just plain stupid.”

Norm Crosby makes more sense!

I was thinking Foster Brooks.

Apparently the Pope has never read Divini Redemptoris.

The Google Translate version:

The Gospel speaks more to the poor or the rich to convert them?

“Poverty is at the heart of the Gospel. You can not understand the Gospel without understanding the real poverty, taking into account that there is also a great poverty of spirit: to be poor before God because God fills you up. The Gospel is addressed equally to the poor and to the rich. It speaks of poverty is that of wealth. Do not condemn the rich at all, but rather the riches when they become objects idolized. The god of money, the golden calf.”

She turns out to be a communist Pope, pauperism, populist. The Economist who dedicated a cover claims that he speaks as Lenin. It is found in these shoes?

“I say only that the Communists have stolen the flag. The flag of the poor is Christian. Poverty is at the heart of the Gospel. The poor are at the heart of the Gospel. Take Matthew 25, the protocol over which we shall be judged: I was hungry, I was thirsty, I was in prison, I was sick, naked. Or look at the Beatitudes, another flag. The communists say that this is a communist. Yeah, right, twenty centuries later. So you could say when they speak to them, but you are Christians “(laughs).

My wife has opined that Marx never would have conceived his pipe dream if he didn’t live in a country where Christianity influenced the culture. I agree with the Pope to the extent that altruism and love of humanity OUGHT to motivate all men. Unfortunately, the commies have yet to overcome the philosophical conundrum of sin. Without that, whatever the Pope thinks about Marx is drivel - and vice versa.

Wait, wait, wait. These guys are wearing the wrong uniforms. They should be field grey, European looking faces, even Aryan ... with helmets that ... oh, wait. National Socialism and plain, old, regular Socialism are completely different ... completely different. No comparison. No. None. Not at all. Nope.

VATICAN TRANSLATION TEAM NOTICE, 29 June 2014

Rome, Italy - It has come to our attention that the liberal media is writing that our Pope referred to communism being closet Christianity! This is a misunderstanding of what The Big Cheese said, probably indicating a translation issue.

We sincerely try, using Google Translate, to get our Great Pope's words translated properly and swiftly. Unfortunately, the poor quality of Google Translate and the mainstream media bias conspire to thwart our efforts. We apologize sincerely and perpetually for this misunderstanding!

The evil press reported our Great Pope said, "...communists are closet Christians."

His Amazing Holiness actually said, "If a communist falls in the forest, but no Christian is there to hear him, perhaps he really fallen into a closet."

Thank you for your indulgences - which you can pick up at your local parish.

I think most Christians here believe we should help the poor, widow and orphan. What most don’t agree with is people who don’t want to work and want to live off the hard work of others. Many times this is generational. This hurts not only the one who has to work to pay for their own family and those who live off others, it also harms those who don’t know the joy of working hard and making something of your own life, of not being dependent on others, but God.

Lots of religions practice charity, but Communism is inherently atheist and fails the “Christianity” test on first principles.

I guess Franky forgot to push the magic infallibility button again. What a nitwit.

I wish people would stop trying to tell others what the Pope meant. Let his words speak for himself. I recall John Paul II and Benedict did not need people interpreting their comments. They were quite clear. This pope has issues.
