HHS money to church entities long before waves of illegal immigrants
WDTPRS ^ | July 11, 2014 | Fr. John Zuhlsdorf

Posted on 07/12/2014 1:46:36 PM PDT by NYer

Via Pewsitter I learned of this from Liberty News. My emphases.

EXCLUSIVE: HHS Bankrolled Catholic and Baptist Church from 2010 to 2013 to Prepare for Obama’s 2014 Invasion!

A month or two ago news broke that Obama’s HHS was calling for private contractors to help transport illegal aliens throughout the interior United States. What made this already big news even bigger is the fact that the original call for proposals came out in January, long before the bulk of the illegal alien surge began.
The breaking news you’re about to read is ten times bigger, because the following proves the Obama administration was bankrolling America’s churches back in 2010. And the tens of millions were flowing in to prepare for the invasion currently underway.
The following is a small taste of what’s out there in grant records. This is just the tip of the iceberg, folks.
Between Dec 2010 and Nov 2013, the Catholic Charities Diocese of Galveston received $15,549,078 in federal grants from Health & Human Services for “Unaccompanied Alien Children Project” with a program description of “Refugee and Entry Assistance.”
Last year, the Catholic Charities Diocese of Fort Worth received $350,000 from Department of Homeland Security for “citizenship and education training” with a program description of “citizenship and immigration services.”
Between September 2010 and September 2013, the Catholic Charities of Dallas received $823,658 from the Department of Homeland Security for “Citizenship Education Training” for “refugee and entrant assistance.”
From Dec 2012 to January 2014, Baptist Child & Family Services received $62,111,126 in federal grants from Health & Human Services for “Unaccompanied Alien Children Program.”

All that money from the feds… from our taxes. What could go wrong?

Moderation queue is ON.

UPDATE:

I was sent a link to the Catholic Charities site of Galveston-Houston, which is fair and appropriate to post. HERE They give their criteria for assistance for deferred action in regard to illegal immigrants.

This is a lie!

Ubama knew nothing about his child/human trafficking border initiative until he read about it on Breitbart!

Connect the dots and it's pretty obvious that Obama planned this to force some action on immigration.

I think it's a big backfire.

Pssst....time for American companies to pull out of Mexico.

**HHS Bankrolled Catholic and Baptist Church from 2010 to 2013 to Prepare for Obama’s 2014 Invasion!**

Original sentence is false. Only the Catholic Charities got money. Not the Catholic Church.

Likewise it was the Baptist Child & Family Services — not the Baptist Church.

It all amounts to journalists with leftist minds trying to invent a headline.

Add misuse and misappropriation of funds to the articles of impeachment.

This is one thing ALL Americans can do to punish Mexico. THEY are the country allowing Central American illegals free passage.

NYer, for you, I’ll do this for the fourth time in two days, which is how often I have seen this posting here on this all too happy to denigrate the Church forum.

I am posting a 12 year old article, which Is how long I have known Catholic Charities is a political, profit-making business which has no more to do with the teachings of the Catholic Church than its commonality in name with the Church.

Below is a link and below that is an excerpt

I beg you to read it.

If you want to find things the USCCB is doing to thwart the Constitution and in so doing very definitely thwart the very Teachings of the Church, there is evidence out there.

But Catholic Charities is not the Church. Please make it stop.

Cardinal O’Connor said the statement below, in case there is anyone looking to dis the Church hierarchy there it is. Condemnation of CC from the Cardinal

http://www.philanthropyroundtable.org/topic/excellence_in_philanthropy/taking_the_catholic_out_of_catholic_charities

“..Because Catholic Charities receives almost two-thirds of its funding from government sources, the senator said, it “can do little that is uniquely Catholic. They have to do what the government dictates, which means they can’t talk about the Catholic part of the charity.”

Senator Santorum had a special reason to be critical of the organization. He had just emerged from an intense debate about the political future of the welfare state. At issue was a Republican bill that sought to curb the growth of the welfare state by eliminating the idea of a welfare “entitlement” and transferring some programs to be administered by states. Senator Santorum, a proponent of the bill and a devout Catholic, was alarmed to witness firsthand the role of the Catholic lobby — especially Catholic Charities — in scuttling the most important parts of the bill.

His conclusion? “The number one opponent, and perhaps the most effective opponent, of welfare reform was Catholic Charities.” This organization, he implied, was more interested in maintaining its own status as a benefactor of government grants than in promoting true charity to the underprivileged, much less witnessing to the truths of the gospel in a way that is “distinctly Catholic.” “If you are only going to be a more efficient bureaucracy, if you are not going to feed the souls as well as the stomach, then why exist?” the senator asked rhetorically.

Not everyone agreed. John Cardinal O’Connor of New York weighed in with a theological critique, arguing that in providing for the poor, Catholic Charities is fulfilling the gospel mandate even if the workers themselves do not preach Jesus to every recipient of charity. Indeed federal law restricts them from doing so. “I have not thought of Catholic social services as a medium for direct, oral teaching about Jesus,” said Cardinal O’Connor...”

Sure sounds like the HHS (Health and Human Services) budget is way too big, and evidently unsupervised or lacking any oversight at all

Obama Scandal #13???

You do realize that many of the vegetables and fruits grown in the US are picked by Mexican migrants. Boycotting Mexico grown veggies accomplishes nothing.

Pssst....time for American companies to pull out of Mexico.

Double Pssssst!!

Time totally tostop all normal surface traffic from Mexico altogether.

I'm sure there will be screams, but a Sovereign Nation's physical and health security of its citizens trumps all other considerations, even economic ones.

Humanitarian considerations? The biggest manufactured red herring of all!

Actually, many of our fruits and veggies ARE coming from Mexico these days due to water problems in CA.

I've been checking for years. The last few years, NO fruits and vegetables bear any hint of nation of origin.

I always thought that federal health laws require that.

No wonder they don’t want pictures in those child processing facilities — those poor little children are suffering from rapid aging syndrome.
