Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem
Animals In The Bible
Donkeys
New International Version (NIV)
21 Balaam got up in the morning, saddled his donkey and went with the Moabite officials. 22 But God was very angry when he went, and the angel of the Lord stood in the road to oppose him. Balaam was riding on his donkey, and his two servants were with him. 23 When the donkey saw the angel of the Lord standing in the road with a drawn sword in his hand, it turned off the road into a field. Balaam beat it to get it back on the road. 24 Then the angel of the Lord stood in a narrow path through the vineyards, with walls on both sides. 25 When the donkey saw the angel of the Lord, it pressed close to the wall, crushing Balaams foot against it. So he beat the donkey again.
26 Then the angel of the Lord moved on ahead and stood in a narrow place where there was no room to turn, either to the right or to the left. 27 When the donkey saw the angel of the Lord, it lay down under Balaam, and he was angry and beat it with his staff. 28 Then the Lord opened the donkeys mouth, and it said to Balaam, What have I done to you to make you beat me these three times?
29 Balaam answered the donkey, You have made a fool of me! If only I had a sword in my hand, I would kill you right now.
30 The donkey said to Balaam, Am I not your own donkey, which you have always ridden, to this day? Have I been in the habit of doing this to you?
No, he said.
31 Then the Lord opened Balaams eyes, and he saw the angel of the Lord standing in the road with his sword drawn. So he bowed low and fell facedown.
32 The angel of the Lord asked him, Why have you beaten your donkey these three times? I have come here to oppose you because your path is a reckless one before me. 33 The donkey saw me and turned away from me these three times. If it had not turned away, I would certainly have killed you by now, but I would have spared it. (Numbers 22)
2 Hear me, you heavens! Listen, earth!
For the Lord has spoken:
I reared children and brought them up,
but they have rebelled against me.
3 The ox knows its master,
the donkey its owners manger,
but Israel does not know,
my people do not understand.(Isaiah 1)
Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion!
Shout, Daughter Jerusalem!
See, your king comes to you,
righteous and victorious,
lowly and riding on a donkey,
on a colt, the foal of a donkey.(Zechariah 9:9)
12 The next day the great crowd that had come for the festival heard that Jesus was on his way to Jerusalem. 13 They took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting,
Hosanna!
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!
Blessed is the king of Israel!
14 Jesus found a young donkey and sat on it, as it is written:
15 Do not be afraid, Daughter Zion;
see, your king is coming,
seated on a donkeys colt. (John 12)

The lowly Donkey is one of the "Stars" of the Biblical Animal Menagerie. He is the Companion and Beast of Burden to the Patriarchs, and accompanied them in their wanderings from Ur to Canaan, to Egypt, and back again.
In the Gospels, the Donkey is present during the Census Trip to Bethlehem, the Flight into Egypt, and the Triumphant Entry into Jerusalem. The Donkey is also the subject of a dissertation concerning the Sabbath (If a Donkey falls into a pit on the sabbath, will you pull him out?).
The Donkey is often maligned as stubborn, dim-witted, and comical, yet has a prominent and honored place in the Holy Scriptures. That is a Good lesson for all of us! :-)
Come and Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Many of the missionaries in rural Mexico used MULES for their mode of transportation as the mules had the stamina, strength and speed of a horse and the
disposition of a donkey.
The mules would FIGHT OFF attacking critters.
MULES: Strong, fastish, stubborn and WON'T put up with any s***...the perfect ride for that arduous terrain.
The phrase "stubborn as a mule" didn't come from nowhere. :o)

Also the donkey and the ox symbolize that the humblest and the least of all animal creation were present at the birth of Christ. Their presence refers to the prophecy of Isaiah.
Daily prayers for the Peace of Jerusalem, our FRiends in need and our beloved Nation.

From my observations living in the country, donkeys are smarter than horses and have more dignity.
Joining in prayer for Israel as she is under attack. Likewise for our beloved America and all God’s people.

PRAYERS ASCENDING ON HIGH FOR THE PEACE OF JERUSALEM! And for the Preservation of the Valiant Israeli Nation!
"ON THE NEXT DAY much people that were come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,
Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord.
And Jesus, when he had found a young ass, sat thereon; as it is written,
Fear not, daughter of Sion: behold, thy King cometh, sitting on an ass's colt."
