Ecumenical rules — basically — if you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all.

No antagonism.

Sorry didn’t see the censor warning. Please remove my
earlier post. I didn’t know that religious posts are now
being censored by a “ Religion Moderator”.

What you call censorship we call good manners.

I think it’s very nice of the Pope to go out of his way to not offend anybody by never mentioning God.

He is such a considerate man.

Please see the Religion Moderator profile page Here.

You will find the following about "Ecumenical" labeled threads:

Religion Forum threads labeled “Ecumenical”

Ecumenical threads are closed to antagonism.

To antagonize is to incur or to provoke hostility in others.

Unlike the “caucus” threads, the article and reply posts of an “ecumenical” thread may discuss more than one belief, but antagonism is not tolerable.

Much more is allowed on "open" threads, refer to the RM profile page linked above.

Some people learn by listening, correct? The video does a good job of putting it in concise form.

It's a strange lot here at FreeRepublic these days. I personally don't think we need a hall mono pitot to keep things decent, I would hope people would respect the Pope and his words. He may not be the conservative many here want, but he's a good and caring man.

we get angry here when Muslims refuse to allow Christians to worship freely....we get angry when Obama goes off on Israel.....so as someone mentioned a little ways up...I'd hope there'd be the courtesy to allow someone to post the Pope's words without disparaging them.

I'd hope.

Peace and cheers.

Irish guard.

The Pope’s 10 “secrets” to happiness all seem to reflect on the “golden rule,” the “do to others” of Luke 6:31.

Referencing also the Bible.

John 13

34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; even as I have loved you, that you also love one another.

35 By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another."

St Augustine said it best, “ our hearts are restless until they rest in you “.

Unless one is in Christ, they can never have true happiness.

Its a shame these 10 secrets didn’t mention our Lord and Savior.

This is a ping for all Christians and for all people who need to remember that “I” am no the center of the universe; that “I” am not the alpha and omega; that “I” am not what it is all about, unless “I” want to be alone amongst everyone and be in the misery of loneliness.

The Pope’s words here are good to remember and abide by.

In the spirit of ecumenicalism, I would certainly agree that the organ music is very nice.

Not exactly.

That is not on the RM page.

I comes from the movie Bambi.

It's what Thumper's mother said to him.
