“In that day says the Lord ,I will strike every horse with confusion, and its rider with madness; I will open my eyes on the house of Judah, and will strike every horse of the peoples with blindness. …In that day I will make the governors of Judah like a firepan in the woodpile, and like a fiery torch in the sheaves; they shall devour all the surrounding peoples on the right hand and on the left, but Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place-Jerusalem.”( Zechariah 12:4-6)
What will be the outcome of Jerusalem being made a “cup of trembling”, maddening her near neighbors into an irrational, self-destructive fury ? How will the world eventually react to the “burdensome stone”, which frustrates the nations of the world in their quest for a godless Utopia? Her enemies, near and far, will rise up against her, in a series of brief and intense wars, in which they will ultimately be utterly defeated.
Zechariah 12:2 already predicted that the nations around her would be “in seige” against her. This month the news has been dominated by the “flotilla fiasco” which seems to underscore this fact. Ultimately the Arab Muslim neighbors of Israel, Arabia,Yemen,Southern Lebanon(Hezbullah), Gaza(Hamas) , Jordan,Syria and Iraq, will unite in a concerted effort to see to it “that the name of Israel be remembered no more”(Psalm 83:4) as the 83rd psalm predicts.
Ezekiel 38 also predicts a coming war against Israel , this time from the rest of the Muslim world, yet headed up by Russia, Libya, Ethiopia, Somalia, Turkey, the “stans” of the Caucasian mountains, all will descend as a cloud to “take a spoil” , but the devastation will almost be absolute!
In the quote above I have highlighted in bold the three words of the curse that God will put on the adversaries ; confusion, blindness and madness. The cup God makes the nations of the world to drink will cause them to be confused, it will blind them and it will make them utterly mad!
The ironic thing is that this is the same cup God caused Israel to drink, when He judged her.According to tHe curse of the Law, in Deuteronomy 28:28-29.
“The Lord will strike you with blindness,madness and confusion of heart, and you shall grope at noonday,as a blind man gropes in darkness;you shall not prosper in your ways; you will only be oppressed and plundered continually and no one will save you.”
Now that the set time to favor Israel has come, the cup she once had to drink, is to be given to those Gentile nations that have oppressed her and furthered her afflictions all these years.This is the meaning of the utter madness of the Arab nations for the last sixty years, as well as the madness that is now afflicting the rest of the world’s leaders.
Just two maxims will suffice to illustrate such blind, confused madness. “The Palestinians never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity”- by an Israeli politician, (I am not sure which one). And this by Golda Mier, “Peace will not come to the Middle East until the Muslims decide that they will love their own children more than they hate us”. Does this not illustrate the self-defeating ,retrograde, consistently destructive policy that the Arab Muslim world has pursued these many years?
And now this cup of madness is being indulged in by Obama, the European Union, the Russians and the rest of the so-called “Kings of the Earth and their rulers”(Psalm 2). There can be no other explanation for the contrary, self-destructive, ruinous policies our “intelligentsia” are pursuing.
Abortion? Madness! Homosexual marriage? Utter madness! Global Warming and the policies that will affect millions and will ruin otherwise modern, thriving economies? Insanity! It seems that common sense has died, and the Leaders of the world can’t make a sound decision. As God says in Proverbs 8 of His Wisdom-“All they that hate me,love death!”.
We are at the stage in world History that Isaiah prophesied,
“Therefore hear this you afflicted, and drunk but not with wine. Thus says the Lord,the LORD your God, who pleads the cause of His people, see I have taken out of your hand the cup of trembling, the dregs of the cup of my fury; you shall no longer drink it,But I will put it into the hand of those who afflict you, Who have said unto you,’Lie down that we may walk over you…”(Isaiah 51:21-23)
“In that day I will make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all the peoples to lift, all who lift it shall injure themselves”(Zechariah 12:2 the Tanakh)
The Word for “Injure themselves, can be interpreted as “Lacerate themselves”.
On the very week that the Ariel Sharon administration succumbed to the years long American diplomatic pressure on Israel to evacuate Gush Katif, the Jewish community in Gaza, hurricane Katrina struck our southern coastal area, ultimately to the detriment of the Bush presidency.

While millions of Jews and friends of Israel celebrated the fulfillment of the prophecies of Israel’s regathering and rebirth, President Obama gave a speech outlining changes in foreign policy, most notably towards Israel .
The changes involved the longstanding use by the United States of veto power in the UN security council , whenever Anti-Israel resolutions are introduced.

The Obama administration is reportedly signaling another major shift in policy towards one of its staunchest allies, Israel, and this shift could change the way it votes at the Security Council. The change would mean an end to the US’ use of its veto power in the United Nations Security Council when certain anti-Israel resolutions are introduced for a vote.
Reports surfaced a couple of weeks ago, that a senior US diplomat met with Qatar’s foreign minister in Paris. They discussed the possibility that the US was giving serious consideration to not using its veto if a vote on Israeli settlements was to come up. It has been the policy of successive administrations to veto virtually all anti-Israel resolutions at the Security Council…
