Catholics and the "Men's Rights Movement"
Catholic Analysis ^ | 25 August 2014 | Matthew Olson

Posted on 08/25/2014 6:15:44 AM PDT by matthewrobertolson

In this show, I discuss the central concerns of the "Men's Rights Movement", how the social doctrine of the Church matches up with it, and what simply must be done in this area in order to prevent societal collapse.

Summary:

I start off with a note to women and I complain about the modern media's terrible influence in these matters. I make note of what I call "practical polygamy" (80-90% of women chasing after 10-20% of men). Perhaps most controversially, I tackle the issue of the advanced education of women and their "right" to work, and I break down the meaning of section 295 of the Compendium of the Social Doctrine of the Church, in light of sections 214, 249, and 251. I touch on homosexuality, gender competition, divorce rates, artificial contraception (and its corporatist backers), and more. Finally, I warn that we are just about in a matriarchal society, which will then resort to formal polygamy, and which will after that turn back to tradition. I plea for a more robust theology for men.

I have returned to active participation in the Church, but I View with disgust its feminization and lack of humility, which I think has its root in the so-called “charismatic” movement.

To: matthewrobertolson; All

My eyes don’t lie — Show me a home with one loving FATHER and one loving MOTHER that are committed to raising their children in a kind, loving, encouraging, stable, simple, normal, and ordinary home and I will show you some very happy well-adjusted children that will grow up to be very happy well-adjusted adults, capable of CONTRIBUTING to society and becoming pillars of their community.

But...It starts with a FATHER that is strong, loving, nurturing, forgiving, kind, patient, sometimes tough, sometimes gruff, but always there — And that always has the making of a very good home.

“which I think has its root in the so-called “charismatic” movement”.

AKA Protestantism. The poison that started infecting the Church after Vatican II.

Go to a Latin Mass parish if you can.

A lot of women seem to be more willing to "share" a desirable man, than to "settle" for the kind of man who will commit to her and only her.

This is a formula for societal collapse, as more women spend their 20's "hooking up" with desirable men, and then expect to find somebody to "settle" for in their 30s who will be willing to marry and support their high-mileage butts. An increasing number are finding disappointment.

Or go to a Novus Ordo Mass where there are only altar boys and acolytes. That’s where future priests come from.

I just checked. I used to drive 42.7 miles to get to a Latin Mass. It’s doable.

I get so tired of people bashing men.

Let’s get right with the Lord and respect them.

There’s an excellent book out called *Father Fiction* by Don Miller.

http://www.amazon.com/Father-Fiction-Chapters-Fatherless-Generation/dp/1439190534

It’s written more for men, but is very good for women to read as well.

Yes, in our town, only altar boys and acolytes. With about eight out of the picture of 20+ interested in the priesthood.
