Would be more accurate, a bovine vocalization would be ‘lowing’. Although the only equine that brays is a donkey.

Frankly, that was my point, an ass, but a girl hates to be overly specific, so “bovine” gets us in the neighborhood of four legged creatures and the word “braying” brings us home to the specific creature. The ass. :)
