Christian College Could Lose Accreditation. Guess Why
The National Catholic Register ^ | 10/3/14 | Matthew Archbold

The New England Association of Schools and Colleges recently announced that they were giving Gordon College, a Christian institution, one year to "review" its policies regarding homosexuality or face losing its accreditation.

These bureaucratic bullies say that the college may be in violation of accreditation standards because of its view that homosexual behavior is a sin and prohibited on campus. The NEASC is demanding that the college review its policy and submit a report to "ensure that the College’s policies and procedures are non-discriminatory."

So now the college has formed a committee to "review" its policy. In a statement that both the NEASC and Gordon College released together, they labeled this process a “period of discernment."

Barbara Brittingham, the president of the NEASC, said they allowed this period because she understands that Gordon College's policy is "deeply embedded in the culture of the college" and those kinds of things "don't change overnight." That comment tells you all you need to know about exactly what the NEASC expects, doesn't it? The group is giving the college a year to overturn thousands of years of Christian teaching.

How understanding of them.

Now, this all started going sideways for Gordon College when the president of the college signed a public letter along with various other religious leaders urging the Obama administration to allow for a religious exemption from an executive order prohibiting federal contractors from discriminating based on sexual orientation.

“We ought to obey God rather than man.” Acts 5:29. God’s accreditation is the only one that will matter in the end.

“Persecution takes many forms. Early Christians faced lions, Now, the lions form committees, speak through smiles, and are always hungry for more. Always.”

Even worse, it is a high tech den of lions made of Obama, the federal courts, state courts, the US Congress, the mass media, the Internet companies, colleges and universities, liberal churches, corporations who all work together, against the will of American Christians to legitimize homosexuality in our culture and violate the First Amendment Rights of Christians to an extent that those who stand for Our Faith are being fed to the lions in a systematic and brutal manner.

Who cares about accreditation. So what! I went to schools with accredidations, but no employer ever asked me one way or the other if my schools were accredited. In fact, I went to Florida State for the Bachelors and George Washington for my Master’s. I believe George Washington lost their accreditation a while back. Not sure if they have it back or not. Does not affect me one way or the other. It is just government controlling the schools. Perhaps the schools should just say “no” to accreditation. Throw it back in their faces.

New England Association of Schools and Colleges

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

So who are these clowns, and what exactly gives them the power to accredit or not? Obviously there are other accreditation bodies as well.

I say there needs to be at least one more body whose charter is to accredit based on both biblical and academic standards. We should be able to tell the Satanists to pound salt on this, and all other issues.

Shows just how much the accreditation has really been worth for quite some time, actually. When they can refuse accreditation because you don't accept Pell grants or other Federal coin, because you only accept native born American citizens, or any other lame line of BS they choose to pretend has some bearing on the quality of what is taught, their refusing accreditation because you don't accept the false God of Popular Culture was just a matter of time.

I mean, what right do you have to believe in any God they don't accredit as being worthy of Godhood, right?

Gordon College sending volunteers to the Lynn public schools (which needed a lot of help), but the city cut them out rbecause of the gay thing. Students even offered to sign a document as individuals supporting the city policy, but the school board wouldn't have it.

FWIW: Every election, you'd see a little Republican red north of Boston, around Hamilton. I assumed it that it was probably Gordon College.

Yes. In case you haven't been paying attention; no one in America, it seems, has 1st Amendment rights to criticize any aspect of homosexuality. This includes our 1st Amendment rights to freedom of religious expression, along with freedom of speech. If you want to praise these people, then you get your rights returned to you.

This is only the beginning. They have started with Christian business owners, property owners who won't allow a "gay" marriage on their property, now, a college. I have been waiting for the day a "gay" Catholic couple try to marry at a Catholic Church, are refused, and then sue the Catholic Church.

I don’t see how that view has anything to do with the school teaching top flight knowledge of academic subjects.

It definitely is time for known, quality, private institutions to develop their own accreditation agency. Employers are ultimately the issue.

If CISCO knows a top flight tech grad is actually top flight on the job, then that is all that matters.

FR: Never Accept the Premise of Your Opponent’s Argument

The only sex-related right that the states have amended the Constitution to expressly protect is voting rights as evidenced by 19th Amendment. So the Constitution-ignorant religious leaders who signed a public letter for a religious exemption from an exective order unsurprisingly don't understand that Obama's executive order is constitutionally indefensible in their situation anyway.

Evil is on the march across America,

Its now a land with an unclean spirit operating directly from the Oval Office, this is a far (far) worse development than at any time in this nations history,

They want to take away from believers any place to stand, that is, any place to be where its just between you and God alone,

It’s this kind of activity that leads to entire nations being judged, where the evil that is being perpetrated upon his people is not merely from some lone individual but comes as an act of a godless enemy state, and these states and kingdoms or nations can later become beasts,

“Woe unto them that join house to house, that lay field to field, till there be no place, that they may be placed alone in the midst of the earth!” Isaiah 5:8

They force you to drink from their cup or be called an outcast,

“Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!” Isaiah 5:20

“Which justify the wicked for reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him!” Isaiah 5:23
