It’s not an attack, it’s an observation: when people reject the Sacraments, they fill them with counterfeits.
It’s a little like asking, “what can Jesus do for you that you cannot do for yourself.”
And just where in Scripture are we told to practice, obey, do, participate, in the sacraments?
Could you show us where the word is found and where the instructions are for them?
bump-ola.
Interesting observations,
Who’s counterfeiting who?
I would definitely recommend the link posted here.
Of the two categories mentioned (Sacramental confession versus secular proxies), my guess would be that which exalts the Body and Blood of Jesus is valid.
Catholic teaching is that Jesus elects to act THROUGH his priests. They have no powers of their own to confer the Sacraments.
Similarly, Jesus could have converted the gentiles on His own, but instead, after his Ascension, he chose to act through St. Paul and His other disciples.
All of which proves nothing and does nothing to supporting Rome’s claims about itself.
Every single believer becomes an ambassador for Christ, to preach the gospel and message of reconciliation.
The regenerate soul is more than just a forgiven sinner.
He’s a new creation in Christ. He has new desires and new interests. He was spiritually dead and blind and is now alive and can see.
He hates sin and desires to live a holy, godly life.
It’s great that someone can *feel* clean when he knows he’s forgiven, but there’s a world of difference between *feeling* clean and knowing you ARE clean.

No, its nothing like anything Jesus can do, its what will
Satan do for/to you.

>> “Catholic teaching is that Jesus elects to act THROUGH his priests.” <<
.
But that is complete nonsense.
He has no priests; priests are agents of the adversary. None of them know our savior.
We have direct access to the Father through Yeshua.

.
Wow, a direct to Hell’s web site!
We are blessed!
.
.
We have no choice but to reject Satan’s “sacraments.”

You might try looking at the comment section. There are strong anti-Catholic comments that are then carefully addressed. Protestants should not take an anti-intellectual stance and be willing hear out the arguments against the 30,000 Protestant interpretations out there.
36 posts and no one wants to discuss the Eastern Christian who is mentioned - Symeon the New Theologian.
Hmmmm
Here's a snip from the Wiki...
Symeon is recognized as the first Byzantine mystic to freely share his own mystical experiences. Some of his writings are included in the Philokalia, a collection of texts by early Christian mystics on contemplative prayer and hesychast teachings. Symeon wrote and spoke frequently about the importance of experiencing directly the grace of God, often talking about his own experiences of God as divine light. Another common subject in his writings was the need of putting oneself under the guidance of a spiritual father. The authority for many of his teachings derived from the traditions of the Desert Fathers, early Christian monks and ascetics. Symeon's writings include Hymns of Divine Love, Ethical Discourses, and The Catechetical Discourses.
Sorry I forgot to put a warning tag that the link is only for serious thinkers.
Saints, martyrs, stigmatists,, the early Church father, Augustine, Aquinas, Newman, and those eminent Protestant theologians who converted to Catholics all in hell. Wonder where Luther who began the curse of the reformation is?
.
Please do not degrade Augustine by associating his memory with the catholic cult!
Who knows about the rest; churchians will all miss Yehova’s rest.
.
.
Its not about intellectualism; that is humanistic blather.
Its about holding to Yeshua’s way and hearing the Holy Spirit ( no apparitions need be considered )
Interpretations are for the cult, believers read the word!
