Yes and no. The people are still there they are just not participating. There has developed a sense in some that they should not participate. I find that not just foolish but also sinful. We have a duty in a republic to participate. But Christians are suffering from the same problem Republicans in general are suffering from: very weak if not outright traitorous leaders.

I was working in Tennessee when the “christians” put the trash clinton and gore into office. Reminds me of Matthew 15:9: “Not every one that sayeth unto me, Lord, Lord, will enter into the kingdom of heaven.” The general epistles describe them as “clouds without water.” People we would expect to do the right thing, but prostitute themselves to the god of convenience and arrogance.

Corporate America crushed Conservative Christian America so to speak earlier this year, that part of this article is true.

‘Conservative Christian Republicans’ like Governor Pence of Indiana and Governor Hutchinson of Arkansas folded like houses of cards.

On the one hand, their power was always inflated by the left. On the other hand, if they ever decide they have a responsibility in civil life then they could make a big difference. Liberals have worked hard to take over some denominations and water down the teachings. Even where that has not happened, often the people feel that civic participation makes them dirty. They think they must choose between the gospel and the constitution and that too much civic participation means they are seeking power rather than trusting God. It is complicated.

Then you have Christians who are part of a minority group or who identify with unions or some other classically liberal associated group and they vote Dem for reasons other than moral issues.

Hey Rod, If the Catholic bishops spoke up with respect to their nominally “Catholic” pro-abortion constituents, wouldn’t there be a different political complexion here?
