Merry Smithmas! I'd almost forgotten, but December 23rd is the birthday of the founder of the LDS church, Joseph Smith. The photo is of a Christmas nativity display at BYU in 2005, the 200th anniversary of his birth (complete with baby Joseph in the crib): www.mrm.org/...

Don’t agree with it but it’s their University, they can do what they want.

So let me get this straight;

For 2015;

Smith’s birthday is the 23rd,
Mohammed’s birthday is the 24th,
And Jesus’ is the 25th,

all by accident!!!!! or coincidence!!!

(The photo is from 2005; but pinterest.com itself wasn't up & running til March of 2010...and minus reviewing specifics, not sure when was posted)

And why is a simple depiction -- including a photo -- of what the Mormons themselves have put to together as a Smith nativity scene "bashing"?

Are you claiming BYU bashes Mormons?

Also, no different than the Facebook-type posts out there where people post photos from one year ago, 5 years, etc.

This BYU photo is from a decade ago this month.

I didn't write the caption to the picture...you seem to have some trouble discerning between original sources & a thread.

If a journalist cites something, for example & a FREEPER posts it, you don't accuse the thread-poster of having invented something out of thin air. After all, the ideas didn't originate with him.

But, hey...it USED to be that the religion moderator didn't allow such accusations that openly judged motives...

**You’re full of hate and nothing you say can deny that.**

Did Jesus Christ denounce the Pharisees? If so, for what?........

False doctrine, among other things.

Did Jesus Christ and his apostles condemn false prophets? Yes.

Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and his apostles, declared God to be a Spirit and thus invisible. They declared that no man has seen God at any time. The only way to see the Father is in the express image, his Son.

It is my understanding that Mr. Smith claims to have seen the images of TWO men, and that they were God the Father and his Son.

IMHO, Mr. Smith saw no such thing.

After having seen the picture,on this one issue I’m trying to be conscientious objector.

First of all I looked up the word “Nativity” and this is what I got from one source:

Definition of nativity
plural na·tiv·i·ties

1
: the process or circumstances of being born : birth; especially capitalized : the birth of Jesus

2
: a horoscope at or of the time of one’s birth

3
: the place of origin

Okay I did not know the word nativity could be used like that but, well learn something new every day. I’m going to assume since the picture shows a homestead circa 1800’s, and since Joe’s B-day is on the 23rd of December, they mean to show the birth of Joe and not Jesus.

Now mind you I am not a fan of Joe Smith or mormanism but I could see his followers celebrating his B-day and showing what his pad would have looked like back then. Does this help with this picture?
