Growing up through Vatican II to today I have seen the progress of the Mass. It was not unusual for kids to do these things. Why do you say it is so bad to speak of them? The Latin Mass takes on a completely NEW meaning now that all attending know what is being said without learning a new language. The Altar boys did not disrespect the Mass as much as the Vatican of the day disrespected it’s parishioners by keeping the intricacies of the mass secret.

People who claim they don't understand the TLM are merely lazy people who refuse to use readily available English/Latin missals.

Secret??? OMG....All good Catholic parents sent their kids to Catholic schools, so Latin was taught by nuns and Priests.....geesh....

You know something sad? My daughter had a Muslim friend who attended a Muslim school, and he learned Church Latin in that school..
Not sure why it was taught, but it was. I think they also learned Hebrew there.
And yes, they studied the Koran as the students were all Muslims.

i grew up with the Latin Mass and it was wonderful, i learned Latin as an alter boy, but EVERY Catholic missal i every saw had Latin on the left and English on the right so people could follow the Mass.
not understanding the Mass, please...

And if I would have traveled to- Argentina,italy,
France— any other country- and had my missal— I would be at HOME! with the SACRAMENT of the mass- and the people of what ever country would understand what was being said!- so intuitive-

I learned the responses to the Latin Mass pre-Vatican II and do not remember any altar boys deliberately mispronouncing any of the Latin words (accidentally getting the wrong endings on some of the words, perhaps). The Latin Mass is beautiful.
But perhaps the "Suscipiat" could have done with fewer sibilants.
