Sister Lucia dos Santos, one of the three children who witnessed the Marian apparitions at Fatima, died in 2005. But before her death, she predicted that the final battle between Christ and Satan would be over marriage and the family.
So says Cardinal Carlo Caffarra, who reports that the visionary sent him a letter with this prediction when he was Archbishop of Bologna, Italy.
This reported statement by Sister Lucia, expressed during the pontificate of Saint John Paul II, was recently revisited by the Desde la Fe (From the Faith) weekly of the Archdiocese of Mexico, in the midst of the debate generated by President Enrqiue Pena Nieto, who announced his intention to promote gay marriage in this country.
The Mexican weekly recalled the statements that Cardinal Caffarra made to the Italian press in 2008, three years after the death of Sister Lucia.
On February 16, 2008, the Italian cardinal had celebrated a Mass at the tomb of Padre Pio, after which he gave an interview with Tele Radio Padre Pio. He was asked about the prophecy of Sister Lucia dos Santos that speaks about the final battle between the Lord and the kingdom of Satan.
Cardinal Caffarra explained that Saint John Paul II had commissioned him to plan and establish the Pontifical Institute for Studies on Marriage and Family. At the beginning of this work, the cardinal wrote a letter to Sister Lucia of Fatima through her bishop, since he could not do it directly.
Inexplicably, since I did not expect a reply, seeing as I had only asked for her prayers, I received a long letter with her signature, which is now in the archives of the Institute, the Italian cardinal said.
In that letter we find written: The final battle between the Lord and the kingdom of Satan will be about Marriage and the Family. Don't be afraid, she added, because whoever works for the sanctity of Marriage and the Family will always be fought against and opposed in every way, because this is the decisive issue. Then she concluded: nevertheless, Our Lady has already crushed his head.
Cardinal Caffarra added that speaking again with John Paul II, you could feel that the family was the core, since it has to do with the supporting pillar of creation, the truth of the relationship between man and woman, between the generations. If the foundational pillar is damaged, the entire building collapses and we're seeing this now, because we are right at this point and we know it.
And I am moved when I read the best biographies of Padre Pio, the cardinal concluded, about how this man was so attentive to the sanctity of marriage and the holiness of the spouses, even with justifiable rigor at times.
How very correct she was about that! Marriage and family values are under attack from all sides, including the judiciary.
The enemy is relentless.
ABORTION destroys the Baby AND the Family!!! Especially the soul of the MOTHER that KILLS her CHILD!!!
The triple blessing of marriage is the covenant between One God, two sexes, and ten thousand generations. We are seeing a coordinated assault on all three, unmatched by any other aggression in the history of the world.
When a president of a mostly Catholic country pushes for gay marriage it can only be from evil.
Homo “marriage” was just legalized in the Republic of Ireland which is mostly Catholic. And Pope Francis didn’t make a peep before the referendum that allowed it.
An appropriate prayer for the family, in this month of the Most Precious Blood:
Permit us, O Jesus, to dedicate to you each member of our family. Acccept each one of us, and may every beat of our hearts be an act of love for you. By the power of your Blood, may we be strengtened and sustained in our daily difficulties. May we be a sign, to each other and to all with whom we come in contact, of your life in us.
Bless our home, dear Jesus. Bless our joys and sufferings. Bless every moment of our lives and especially the moment of our death. After living for the glory of your Blood one earth, may we have the joy of praising you eternally in heaven.
Abnormal, deviant, pervert heads exploding all over the world.
As theories go, ^^THIS^^ explains the transformed world from my 1960s childhood to our now better than anything I've read, seen or heard yet.
First, easy, no fault divorce to break up and rid the family of the father and replace him with GovCo.
Next, GovCo sanctioned human sacrifice on the alter of convenience to the worldly prince of death, who gains more power with each abortion.
And, of course, GovCo bans our Father, Who art in Heaven, from GovCo itself and from all that is and are under GovCo's control and authority.
Now "free" from our Heavenly Father and our family father, we, the prodigal children of GovCo, are free to be what we are, and are making up our rules as we go, happily unaware.
I have to say, our battle is going rather poorly and the death toll so far became incomprehensible decades ago.
I've read that Garabandal is the sequel to Fatima.
So...are we're ready for The Warning and The Miracle yet?
If not, we must be getting close.
Still don’t know if Garabandal is legit.
To be honest, I'm not sure that any of it is legit, but it "feels" right to me, and the data I've collected so far seems to support it.
Otoh, I didn't grow up in any sort of Church/church family and tend to be open minded. I was taught and always believed in the basic Judeo-Christian understanding of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, but without really understanding.
Nearly-normal and somewhat too curious, I've always somehow managed to, often naively, find ways to prove to my "self" the existence of what doesn't seem to have a rational explanation, so I'm fairly open to supernatural possibilities, good and bad.
I've unfortunately seen enough to wish I'd had less curiosity about a couple of things, but such is the price one pays for wisdom the hard way.
Anyhoo...I'm trying hard to just be an observer these days, while begging for forgiveness for my sins, and this seems to be the progression of the warnings with lots of world altering changes in between each one:
Last message at Fatima October 17, 1917Mother Mary, Her appearances and warnings and all that surrounds Her, now and in history, along with all that is alluded in Revelation/Apocalypse, is not something I grew up with.
Garabandal, Spain: From 1961-65
Last message at Akita October 17, 1973
Perhaps that's why I have some of the usual Protestant discomfort, but not the Protestant hostility that some display.
Personally, I'm taking a Pascal's Wager approach to all things Mary and note that the fruit here has been the finest kind.
I thought it was the pope getting shot with arrows?
