Former Irish Seminarians Cite Secrecy Demands at Maynooth

Two former students at Ireland's national seminary have reported that they were asked to sign a confidentiality agreement, promising not to sue the institution.

The former seminarians told the Irish Times that the secrecy agreement was presented to them soon after they enrolled. "One can draw their own conclusions" as to the reasons for the agreement, one former student said.

St. Patrick's seminary at Maynooth has been under heavy fire because of reports of an aggressive gay subculture.

This would not be anything new. Most Catholic seminaries do keep a policy where they are able, by discretion of the rector and formation faculty staff, to dismiss a seminarian from the seminary.

Unlike a public university a seminary has to be able to kick out men who don’t meet acceptable standards. It is more a training school than a secular university.

Marines kick out people who can’t make the standard all the time.

I guess I as a Protestant in the USA am glad to be a Protestant here in the USA and not a Catholic in the old country. My apologies to the Catholics here in the USA who may be offended by what I just wrote. Freedom of speech is an American ideal. Not so much in the old country. Long live the Constitution. And the Bill of Rights. If a society will not tolerate freedom of speech then that society is probably corrupt and should be avoided as is the case with fraudsters.

This is the worst example of journalism I think I have seen. The damn thing looks like a telegram in the first place and it is unsourced, with absolutely no context.

What could possibly be the rush to get a couple of sentences like this to press that allege what, exactly? That game show for filling in phrases could do better.

Vatican has become a mafia masquerading as a religious order.
Syndicates commonly forbid “freedom of speech” and demand loyalty, conscience be damned.

Rome bosses repeatedly demonstrate ungodly indecency, corruption and deception.
Case in point facts:

Vatican has been convicted by Italian Justice dept for illegally laundering and hiding MILLIONS of Euros of mafia money. (Mafia money earned by drugs, extortion, prostitution)

Vatican hid MILLIONS of Euros of Holocaust victims assets and resisted disclosure for decades.

Vatican RCC directs International Catholic Refugee Services to encourage Muslim refugee invasions in Europe, the USA and Canada, because the RCC profits MILLIONS of Euros and dollars paid out to them by governments acting against the will of their citizens.

For decades the Vatican RCC obfuscated reporting THOUSANDS of pedophile priests, sheltered them internationally, enabled the ongoing sodomization of child victims, and thwarted justice of criminal convictions to stop priest abuse of children.

Very saintly?

The Irish Times is a far, far-left rag that hates everything Catholic.

1. It HAS to be that way. Not everyone can "cut the mustard."

2. True enough.

3. This I didn't know. I learned something today.

Thanks for you dose of common sense.

They are journalists. They always hate God, just like Hollyweird. They don't like rules.

A better headline (August 11) from the Irish Times: Germany targets radical Islamists in crackdown.
