To whom are we to pray, the Father, the Son, or the Holy Spirit?

How many passages of scripture must I have?

And no, I don’t think God will answer prayers that are contrary to His will just because they go through a saint.

I have said before, my interpretation of scripture shows me that God wants us to intervene for each other (the Lord’s Prayer), that He is willing to act when someone intervenes for us (Cana), and that our prayers do go through others to Him (Revelation). (That’s more than one passage.)

I pray to saints because I want to, I feel a connection to them because they are human like me, and because by my interpretation of scripture it is permitted. I also pray directly to God the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, and to God the Trinity. I like to cover all the bases.

If you disagree, don’t do it. Do you believe you have standing to judge my interpretation as wrong or impose yours on me? I don’t impose mine on you.

Love,
O2

No, I am not looking for justification to sin, but I know that all of us will sin again, even if we have accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior.

The actions that I do that you call sin, I do not believe are sinful. I have given several scriptural justifications for my belief.

The question of whether or not I can lose my salvation is the central point. I am saved by the Blood of the Lamb. I have no doubt of that.

If I cannot lose my salvation, then even if praying to saints is a form of accidental idolatry, I am still saved, so why does it matter if I do it or not?

If I can lose my salvation by sinning unintentionally, which is what you said before, then everyone who sins after being saved is no longer saved. Is there a way to regain that salvation?

Love,
O2

So you are saying that sinning after being saved shows that one has not truly accepted Christ.

Any sin, or only certain sins?

Intentional sin, or unintentional?

‘Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.’

Does that mean that once I have accepted Jesus there is no way to lose that salvation?

You didn’t answer the question.

For those on earth during the tribulation, will it be OK for their prayers to go through the saints to God, if you are correct in your interpretation that this particular part of revelation takes part during that time?

O2

The BIBLE tells us that once we believe on the One Whom God has sent for our salvation, we are in HIS hands, and there is nothing that can take us from HIM. You are born from above into GOD’s family. You are, as a child of GOD, under HIS care, and He will raise you up in the way that you should go, even if it takes the res5t of your life to be fully yielded to HIS Spirit.

There is no 'go through the saints'. When someone calls out to GOD during the Tribulation, there is only one way to be taken to the Father and that is by JESUS. There is only One name under Heaven by which we MUST be saved. No mother of Jesus, no saints, no Angels even, ONLY Through Him can we go to the Father.

Do you know the purpose of the Great High Priest? Jesus IS The Great High Priest, in Heaven, as our advocate with The Father Almighty. He has taken the perfect blood into the Holy of Holies, IN HEAVEN, and put it upon the Mercy Seat, covering the laws.

When a person is born again, their want to changes, to want to conform to image of God's Son. we cannot do that on our own, so GOD's Spirit directs our growth in Jesus as a part of the Body of Christ / the Bride of Christ.

Thank you for asking. I trust the reply was not too convoluted. If there is any other that I may be able to address for you, don’t hesitate to ask. I may not have it all complete but I’ve been studying the topic for decades at this point.

Nope.

O, to be honest, I have no idea where you're coming from.

I don't know when and how you became a Christian.

I will say this.

A follower of Christ will not be bowing down to false images or praying to the person those images represent or relying upon the person those images represent for anything.

If you're looking for an "ok" to keep doing what you're doing you'll not receive it from me.

My suggestion to you is to get a copy of the Bible...preferably the NASB translation and read it.

I'd start with the book of John first. Just read it for yourself and prayerfully ask God to show you the truth.

Next, I recommend you read Galatians and Colossians.

But to answer your questions.

A true follower in Christ does have ALL of their sins forgiven. The NT is clear on that.

I was raised in the RC Church. We spent most of our prayers and worship to Mary the Co-Redemptrix, in special cases kneeling in front of her statue and dressing/crowning it. My church was even named after her. People tell me that wasn’t worship but veneration, but that’s just haggling over words. I’m not knocking anyone who chooses to do that, but let’s be honest here. On the other hand I’ve met Catholics who were horrified when they heard of the practices in my parish.

Do you pray any other way than the Our Father? If so, then you are also not obeying Jesus, because that is the only way He taught us to pray.

Then Jesus Himself prayed wrong when He prayed other ways than reciting the *Our Father*.

You really want to go there?

No matter how many ways you slice it, praying to anyone but God is not taught anywhere in Scripture and Catholics who pray to saints and Mary cause they think they can get answers from them that they won’t from God are not trusting God and not trusting Him to keep His promises about answering us.

They are disobeying God’s commands and prohibitions against contacting the dead, weasel words and definition changing and hair splitting excuses not withstanding about what *dead* means.

All those verbal semantics are just excuses and rationalizations to justify disobeying God.

Those are not answers to ealgeone’s questions.

They are rabbit trails.

If you are fully devoted to Christ and trusting Him as you say, why are you wasting time focusing on dead people?
