E. Michael Jones has a fascinating, disturbing account of how the U.S. government policy of Urban Renewal in the 1950's-60's (my own neighborhood was destroyed by it: we called it "urban removal") was designed to bust up and scatter Catholic enclaves of faith, family, and political power.

In its stated purposes (increasing and improving housing stocks, fighting poverty, more rational design of urban centers) it was a devastating failure. In its unstated purposes (uprooting and abolishing fiercely independent,self-respecting, self-sustaining church-centered communities) it was --- a smashing success.

thanks for the tip...btw, they broke up almost every Italian neighborhood on the east coast by putting up large housing projects in their neighborhoods, calling it urban renewal...And don’t forget the feds needed permission to build so you know who got the bribes, all the local mayors, etc..
