Pick a version, any version.

Pick a Language, any language.

There is only one mediator between God and man. That would be Jesus, not the church, not your denomination, not a guy with a white hat, black hat, red hat, or a Yamulka. Jesus, just Jesus. One more time. Jesus. Got it. Hey, Jesus is the mediator, the way, the truth. Hey. did you hear about Jesus? Check the link. Its about Jesus. Cover to cover. 66 glorious books. Jesus.

I have nothing at all against catholics. I can't stand the catholic church hierarchy though.

A few different places in the way back machine show a cumulative total of at least eight languages. Between English, Spanish, Chinese, Portuguese, French, German, Italian and Latin they had first or second languages for the majority of the globe and probably two-thirds of Catholics. If you can read enough to use the Vatican web site, you could read the Bible.

Many Catholics would share your sentiments. Some Bishops aren’t bad, but it is starting to feel too much like the 4th century.

The Latin Vulgate is easily found: here.

Not sure it makes sense for the Vatican website to have Bibles in different national languages, except maybe Italian. They're right; go to the national bishops' conference, or to a commercial publisher.

The Vatican removed the Bible from its website, eh?

Can’t say as that surprises me one bit.

It’s not like they follow it anyways.

There is only one mediator between God and man.

You should pick the Greek language (the language of composition), where you would learn that the verse does not say, and cannot be made to say, "only one mediator". The word in Greek is heis ("one, unique, primary"), not monos ("exactly one, one only").

Nobody else mediates effectively, except in and through Christ, but that's not the same as saying "nobody else mediates, period". The very same chapter commands Christians to pray for others, including pagan rulers. That's mediation, any way you slice it.

People might actually start reading it and Roman Catholicism certainly doesn’t want that to happen.

“Continuous updating of the translations”. Sounds like Luther.

Is that so? Who had the “true Bible” then? The Gnostics? The Lutherans? Oh wait, Lutherans and other Protestants didn’t show up until the 1500s, 1100 years AFTER the canon of scripture was closed.

And the Roman Catholic church with its worship of the idols of Mary and prayers to Mary was in the New Testament church?

LOL!

If anything Baptists were around the longest....John the Baptist.

Are you saying that there is another way to salvation aside from Jesus? Do tell. That way is, as you say, heis (”one, unique, primary”); and yes, we do pray for intercession and blessing. That’s wholly diferent from the path to salvation. Too many see the church as the path to salvation. They will find out that they are mistaken.

So, before you go jumping down my throat, maybe take a step back and check your pride. The veres, in context, is below. Not in greek, but in good old Americanese. Go pick nits elswhere.

1 Timothy 2:5-8

5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave himself as a ransom for all people. This has now been witnessed to at the proper time. 7 And for this purpose I was appointed a herald and an apostle—I am telling the truth, I am not lying—and a true and faithful teacher of the Gentiles.

8 Therefore I want the men everywhere to pray, lifting up holy hands without anger or disputing.

Doubt the veracity of your statement, but the Catholic Church takes undue credit for that.

It doesn’t matter if they compiled it or not, does it? It’s mostly Hebrew and Jewish authors and writings. Let them have their glory. Be of good cheer.

Are Catholics that dumb??? Do Catholics really believe you when you tell them that??? Bible believers aren't quite that naive...

1Ti 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

If one mediator doesn't mean just ONE mediator, then one God doesn't mean just ONE God...And it certainly doesn't mean pray...

Nobody else mediates effectively, except in and through Christ, but that's not the same as saying "nobody else mediates, period". The very same chapter commands Christians to pray for others, including pagan rulers. That's mediation, any way you slice it.

Apparently you don't know, or don't like what mediate means...

εἷς
heis
hice
(Including the neuter [etc.] ἕν hen); a primary numeral; one: - a (-n, -ny, certain), + abundantly, man, one (another), only, other, some. See also G1527, G3367, G3391, G3762.

Their web tracker probably shows that Catholics ARE (were) starting to read it...

Episcopal Congress means the group of bishops where you live.

Three ordinations: deacon, priest, episcopal (bishop)

St. Jerome compiled the first Bible.

You were aware of that, weren’t you?
