Would it be in the same group as the Living Bibles?

Favorite versions of the Bible are New American Bible,New Revised Standard Catholic Edition, and the Jerusalem Bible. Until last week, never heard of The Message Bible.

I’ve switched to primarily reading the Bible on my phone. I love being able to easily switch between versions and being able to search.

There has always been the argument of ‘if not the KJV, which one?’

“The Message” is a very personal and quirky paraphrase of the Bible. It’s not a translation and should not be used as such. I’ve read it through - it’s totally dependent on one man’s opinion and therefore flawed, but it’s OK when read with that in mind. I wouldn’t call it heresy as some do, but don’t call it Scripture either. It’s like the footnotes in a Study Bible - the words were written by some guy, however sincere, and not under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, so take it with plenty of salt.

A Hebrew/Greek bible would be best, but I can’t read either. My concordance helps.

Ever tried Barne's Notes? It's like a concordance on steroids. I had the entire set and used them extensively.
