Proverb 2 (NKJV)

The Value of Wisdom
01 My son, if you receive my words,
00 And treasure my commands within you,
02 So that you incline your ear to wisdom,
00 And apply your heart to understanding;
03 Yes, if you cry out for discernment,
00 And lift up your voice for understanding,
04 If you seek her as silver,
00 And search for her as for hidden treasures;
05 Then you will understand the fear of the LORD,
00 And find the knowledge of God.
06 For the LORD gives wisdom;
00 From His mouth come knowledge and understanding;
07 He stores up sound wisdom for the upright;
00 He is a shield to those who walk uprightly;
08 He guards the paths of justice,
00 And preserves the way of His saints.
09 Then you will understand righteousness and justice,
00 Equity and every good path.

10 When wisdom enters your heart,
00 And knowledge is pleasant to your soul,
11 Discretion will preserve you;
00 Understanding will keep you,
12 To deliver you from the way of evil,
00 From the man who speaks perverse things,
13 From those who leave the paths of uprightness
00 To walk in the ways of darkness;
14 Who rejoice in doing evil,
00 And delight in the perversity of the wicked;
15 Whose ways are crooked,
00 And who are devious in their paths;
16 To deliver you from the immoral woman,
00 From the seductress who flatters with her words,
17 Who forsakes the companion of her youth,
00 And forgets the covenant of her God.
18 For her house leads down to death,
00 And her paths to the dead;
19 None who go to her return,
00 Nor do they regain the paths of life--
20 So you may walk in the way of goodness,
00 And keep to the paths of righteousness.
21 For the upright will dwell in the land,
00 And the blameless will remain in it;
22 But the wicked will be cut off from the earth,
00 And the unfaithful will be uprooted from it.

Charles Bridges (d.1869):
My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee;

Chapter2:1-6 – StudytheWord

Wisdom, having solemnly warned rebellious scorners, now instructs her dutiful children. The dark question long before asked—“Where shall wisdom be found?” (Job 28:12, 20, 21)—is now answered. It is here set before us as the fear and knowledge of God (Pro 2:5); a principle of practical godliness (Pro 2:7-9); a preservation from besetting temptations (Pro 2:10-19); and a guide into the right and safe path (Pro 2:20). Hence follow the security of its scholars (Pro 2:21), and the certain ruin of its ungodly despisers (Pro 2:22).

Receive my words. Let them be “the seed cast into the ground of an honest and good heart” (Luk 8:15), a heart prepared of God (Pro 16:1). Read the Book of God as one who “sat at the feet of Jesus, and heard His word” (Luk 10:39). Like the Bereans, “receive it with all readiness” (Act 17:11); like the Thessalonians, with reverential faith, acknowledging its supreme authority (1Th 2:13).

Hide my commandments with thee. Carry them about with thee as thy choicest treasure for greater security (Col 3:16, with Mat 13:44); as thy furniture always at hand for present use (Pro 4:20, 21; 7:3; Job 22:22). Let the heart be the hiding-place for the treasure (Luk 2:19, 51; Psa 119:11). Satan can never snatch it thence.

Gentiles do not have a commandment to learn the Hebrew Bible. If you choose to learn it,
I suggest that you focus on the Five Books of Moses.

You are wrong, because the books contained in the OT open up the New testament.miss all the prophesies if you don’t.

I gave the actual and practical Torah Law. I do not care what you do with that information.
