Perhaps AI might be the antichrist in biblical end time prophecy?

Liberals and millinneals may think they might be able to replace God with AI, and they may do so in their own lives at their own peril, but God will NEVER be replaced.

I have been working there since the early 90s. But I live a bit outside it in a more rural area and commute. About once a week I work from home...gotta drive in today though.

It saddens me that such a lousy writer sold so many copies. So many otherwise normal people believed all the nonsense he wrote. He didn’t even originate it: It was a fourth rate plagiarism.

Seriously??

Prophesying the “death” of Christianity and Judaism has “literally” been done by everybody for the last 6000 years.

And where are all of the groups and people who prophesied?

So you work in the tech industry? If so in what capacity?

Just curious as everyone from Elon Musk to Ray Kurzweil on down basically accepts the “divinity” of AI as gospel.

Are you familiar with Kurzweil and his concept of the “singularity”?

I agree except the primacy of technology and AI and expansion of scientific knowledge has never been greater. Again I don’t believe in it, but the folks pushing this stuff are saying we are only now gaining “total” knowledge due to science and tech that was never around before. In other words, This time its “different”

Fools who do not believe God exists also do not believe Satan exists though, ironically, he controls them.

Stupid atheists.

I hate God! Gods a myth! You don’t think for yourself and you use a god as a crutch!

Let’s build a better one that I may worship it and force you too!

>>folks truly believe that technology IS God <<

This is making the golden calf to worship.

It is a direct violation of the 1st and 2nd Commandments.

God showed mercy to the Israelites after a plea by Moses to spare them. All He did was send the Levites to slaughter the worst transgressors with swords, and then sent a plague to afflict the rest.

It is absolutely clear: ONLY a return to the (Puritanesque) Christianity of our forefathers can save America and the world.

Psalm 2 (KJV)
2 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying,
3 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.
4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.
5 Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.
6 Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.
7 I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.

For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.

I Corinthians 1:25

One day educated fools like Mr. Brown will learn a hard lesson.

I'm paraphrasing, but didn't Nietzshe get into what happens without man's acceptance of God, that has nothing to do with believing if God is real? If there is no God that expresses the best of values, man becomes God, with all of our flaws. Nietzshe's Superman, the man who reigned Supreme without a higher power, is super-awful.

If Man rejects God but accepts technology as our God, isn't that what's happening? Don't we need a spiritual God that ties together our best instincts instead of a Techno-God that magnifies our worst?

My personal belief in God is that it's a common spirit that ties us together with a sense of right vs wrong, that reaches far beyond our collective wisdom. A Techno-God closes that window to things beyond our ability to digitize them.

I'm getting too philosophical.

Have you seen the movie “Surrogates” (2009)? It’s a way-too-close to plausible vision of what happens to a world with too much dependence on technology.

A mediocre fiction author makes for an even more mediocre prophet.

Though, maybe he could start a cult and grab some cash that way. Worked for L. Ron Hubbard.

“Will replace God? No because it’s just a huge chat room.”

Yes, and except for very restricted limited use circumstances, it turns out that this “collective consciousness” of the internet seems to have the intellectual level of a prepubescent child.

Brown needs to read Aquinas concerning Necessary and Contingent. We are contingent beings, dependent on God as Being itself. Any collective consciousness would of course be contingent upon us, and leaves open the question of what it is upon which we are contingent.

In short, AI and the collective consciousness cannot do what God’s real job is. Brown and company think God only sits around making a moral code and judging everyone. It is the same error repeated for most of recorded history.
