You’d think if someone’s going to write a whole article about a song, they’d get the name of it right.
It’s Happy Xmas (War Is Over).
This Lennon ‘Christmas’ song is a bit of a downer for the spirit of the season. More of a gloomy than a happy song. At the end its totally ruined with its ‘war is over’ lyrics.
I turn it off when it comes on the radio. Despise it.
The only other song on the radio that infuriates me as much is "Imagine". This slimeball was trying to sell us the communist manifesto as music. It is a "Che" t-shirt thrown at us in the key of G.
Temptation is not nipping at his heels...it is snarling and raging at his heels.
Non Christians do not know evil as do Christians.
Just because you were numbered among the evil does not give you knowledge of evil.
That experience actually blinds you to evil.
I have read a few of your missives and am always amazed at your hubris and lack of humility.
As a monk of the tertiary but protestant order...I think you are a novice.
Even some of the usual Christmas songs are not Scripturally correct. Just compare them with the Gospels especially Matthew and Luke.
John Lennon mugger? As I remember him he doesn’t look like he could be a threat to a chocolate eclair ! Where do you gel that?
I don't doubt that you are well intentioned...but you appear to be too ill equipped for this battle.
I guess I’m the only conservative on the planet that likes Imagine and his Christmas tune. I think I’ll listen to both now.
Here’s the Christmas one:

You may love the Lord, but you are still ignorant. We are all ignorant as to His ways...but you post as though you are not ignorant.
Whatever gets you through the night...

Just about the sorriest song written.
This version has much more powerful images than the other link I posted:

I never believed he was a saint.
I was never much of a fan of any of them.
I always liked Emerson Lake and Palmer’s “Father Christmas” - although the music more than some of the lyrics.
Keith Emerson (RIP) did a solo Christmas Album. Lots of creative stuff (I like the “Starship Christmas” song with the kid’s singing), along with some old standbys that he of course did his rearrangements too.
Below is his version of “Silent Night” with piano and a choir belting out the verses.

Doesn’t surprise me!
Too much bitterness and anger! Not the way a Christian should think.
