The Curious Progressive Love of Islam

Among present-day American leftists (who prefer calling themselves progressives), a curious characteristic is their sympathy for Islam. They deplore what they call Islamophobia, regarding it as a sin as bad as racism or sexism or homophobia or transphobia; and they are horrified that a man they consider to be an Islamophobe, Donald Trump, should be in the White House.

Why is this sympathy for Islamic “curious”? Because no religion could be more at odds with progressive ideas than Islam. For one thing, Islam believes in God, an all-powerful God who controls everything in the created world. Progressives, on the other hand, tend to be atheists or at least semi-atheists.

For another, Islam has always taught that women must be socially inferior to men; it is a strongly patriarchal religion, and progressives hate few things more than they hate patriarchy. Islam also puts a strong emphasis on chastity, condemning adultery and fornication and – especially – homosexuality. And it considers monstrous that progressive favorite, same-sex marriage.

It’s not white, Christian, or American so they’re all for it.

It’s “the enemy of my enemy is my friend”. The left hates genuine Christianity. Muslims hate Christians. The left knows that Muslims will vote for Democrats to undermine Christians who vote heavily Republican. The left thinks they can keep the Muslims in a box, but they will learn that the moment the muzzies have sufficient numbers they will turn on their fair weather political allies.

I’m working on this. Making a list, trying to figure it all out. People higher on my list can say all sorts of bad things about people lower on the list.

But people lower on the list cannot say anything bad about people higher on the list. That would be a hate crime.

Here’s what I’ve got so far.

Muslims
Gays
Racial Minorities (except Asians, they’re treated like whites)
Feminists
Straight white females
Straight white males

I think it’s deeper than that. I think they admire the control Islamic state have over the general population. They deceive themselves thinking they can do that and still have their abortions, suggestive clothing and all the sexes, races and religions be on equal footing.

It's their hatred of Christianity and Western civilization. They "feel oppressed" by Christianity having a bunch of rules for them to break so according to the enemy of my enemy is my friend principle they support Islam as the philosophy most likely to break the West as it is. Unfortunately the enemy of your enemy is just as often an even greater enemy, much like someone robbing and threatening to kill your parents who have just hassled you about coming home late and drunk. Anyone with more wisdom than a petulant teenager can see that.

If they looked at it rationally, everything they hate about the rules and control of Christianity are many, many times worse under Islam. Don't like that Baptist preacher on campus criticizing you for your skirt length? How about one who stones you for not wearing a full body bag? Don't like criticisms of your drunkenness? Well just outlaw alcohol entirely.

The left has as its goal the elimination of the dominant religion in the USA, Christianity. Communism wants the state to be the only influence on peoples’ value systems.

The left thinks that the fastest way to eliminate Christianity is to bring in as many m*slims as possible, to reward them with money and privileges, and to encourage them to multiply and replace the Christians.

Problem is, the m*slims are much more of an influence on peoples’ value systems than Christianity. *slam is a totalitarian value system, that seeks to control all aspects of life. It will not relax its grip on peoples’ minds like Christianity has. *slam will not let go until it becomes the only value system.

Actually, you can get to the detested status of straight white male by being a conservative anything - conservative Hispanics, conservative blacks, conservative women - they all lose their heirarchy on the list and go straight to the bottom.

I have thought of the same list: Obama’s “hierarchy of hatred” for foreign policy. Israel at the top, America below, UK, socialist Europe, ex-communist, socialist, current communist, secular Muslim, religiously Muslim, radical Muslim as most favored.
