Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem
Our Father in Heaven,
Hallowed and Sanctified is Your Most Holy Name!
You Alone Are Worthy To Be Praised,
Holy and Righteous,
So Perfect in Justice and Purity,
Yet Abounding In Compassion and Love!
And yet, here we are,
Surrounded by bloodshed, depravity, pornography, and lies,
Struggling daily to keep Truth Alive,
When sometime it seems the Whole World is Against us!
Teach us to keep our eyes on YOU.
We Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem,
According to Your Will and Promise.
We Pray For the People and Leaders of Israel,
that They Will Look to You for the Protection
and Prosperity of their Nation.
We Also Pray For Revival in our own Beloved USA.
We Pray For The Leaders of Our Nation,
May They Be Inspired and Led By You,
And Please Guide Them in All Things.
Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.
Hallelujah and Amen

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem
Before I narrate the story I had planned for today, another one just popped up which I will share first. So today, you get two for the price of one.
A neighbor of mine has just published his first novel and is very excited about it. He works at the factory that makes my favorite cymbals (since 1623!) and so, we always have something to talk about. I promised I would buy a copy (autographed of course) when it came out. Well, the Big Day arrived, and my friend had the book for me. However, the twenty dollar price tag, though normal for a book, came at a time when all my students were on vacay, and my house had just been finished with a huge construction project that left me with no money for the little bit of landscaping I needed to do after the contractors left. But...a promise is a promise, and I forked over my last twenty for the book. As I did, my neighbor said, Hey, ML, can you use twenty gallons of landscaping stones? The Cymbal Factory changed its landscaping, and I brought home 4 5-gallon buckets of black river rocks! (Well, of course, that is JUST what I needed to complete my project, and so I schlepped the twenty gallons of River Rocks along with the autographed book, home.)
The river rocks installed, and my home project finished, I settled in to read the book. It's a good story, but is filled with spelling and grammatical errors. My friend mentioned that the publisher was supposed to proof-read it, but didn't. Some of them were really bad errors.
For some reason (maybe landscaping in the hot sun) I made two very bad errors on FR yesterday. First, I posted in "Amy's Place" that it was "Hot and Fuzzy Wednesday" when it was actually TUESDAY! I was gently corrected by one of our members. Then (even WORSE) I stated that D-Day was in 1941 instead of 1944. YIKES! One of our prayer-warriors gently pointed THAT out to me too.
I think I will keep my criticism of my friend's spelling errors to myself! LOL!
And now for the story I actually planned for today.
In 1984 I visited Israel, and part of the Tour was a boat cruise on the Sea of Galilee. The tour was a group of Pentecostal Ministers, and we filled the whole boat. Somebody miraculously "found" a guitar and asked if anyone could play. Well, of course, that was my cue! We sang and sang, as the sun went down on the beautiful lake and the moon came out. The pilot headed for shore where there was a fire burning in a pit, and fish grilling over it.
Oh My! That fish was DELICIOUS! "What kind of fish is this?" I asked.
"St. Peter's Fish" was the reply.
"No...no. What is its SPECIES? I want to be able to get some of this when I go home.
Oh. OK. No Problem. It's called "Tilapia".
Aimed with this new knowledge of this wonderful, light, tasty, fish, I purchased some at the fish market at home. I cooked it exactly the way I was told to, and...IT WAS NASTY! I could NOT duplicate the taste of "St. Peter's Fish" no matter how hard I tried. In the 34 years since, I have tried Tilapia on a few occasions with the same dismal results.
I guess this is one of those occasions where "You REALLY had to be there!"

He who does nothing makes no mistakes. (That should be a hint of my position on the mistake-making continuum.)
I had a similar experience with catfish. Then, my friend told me that she only eats pond catfish, never river catfish.

Even though the tilapia fish is raised in pools (I would trust Israel methods of farming it more than here), the fish is then brought to the fresh waters of the lake. Always great stories from you!
Joining in prayer. God bless.

Fish is tricky.
Send my congrats to your neighbor who had the courage to publish and put himself out there.

The Black River Rocks are very special for more than one reason.
First, because, as you stated, they were a gift from God.
Second, because they came from the factory that makes my all-time favorite cymbals.
Third, because that factory was founded by a Christian Artisan that fled Turkey to escape persecution by the “you-know-whos”.
As I stated earlier, the Family has been making cymbals since 1623. (THAT was NOT a typo) Remember, the Pilgrims landed at Plymouth Rock in 1620, three years earlier.
That means the Zildjian Family has been making cymbals since before the United States even existed.
