Leading Benedictine Nun in Germany Calls for Women Priests

'Why shouldn't we pray for gender equality in the Church?' says Sister Ruth Schönenberger

The leader of one of Germany's most important female religious communities has called into question the Catholic Church's exclusion of women from the ordained priesthood.

"It is surely only natural for women to be priests and I cannot understand the reasons given as to why not," said Sister Ruth Schönenberger, head of the Benedictine Priory of Tutzing, the Bavarian motherhouse of a worldwide missionary order.

"I am surprised that the presence of Christ has been reduced to the male sex," she said in a recent interview with katholisch.de, the official website of the German Catholic Church.

"Here in Tutzing, we, too, have excellently qualified women theologians. The only thing they lack is ordination – nothing else," said 68-year-old Schönenberger, prioress of Tutzing since 2015.

The priory is one of the most important in the Benedictine world. In 1885 it founded the Missionary Benedictine Sisters of Tutzing, a congregation that today numbers some 1,300 sisters in 19 countries around the world.

Priesthood should not be based on gender

Schönenberger, who is responsible for the 70 members at the Tutzing priory and those at two other Benedictine convents, said the criteria for priesthood should not be based on one's gender.

"Our present image/concept of the priesthood urgently needs to be fundamentally revised and I am genuinely surprised that priests themselves don't protest more against present developments since they involve them," said the prioress, noting that men and women should be treated as equals.

Roman Catholic women do not want to become nuns why does anyone think they would become priests if they were allowed?

I guess the lesbian nuns want to molest little girls just as the queer priests have been molesting little boys.

The solution to this nutty nun is to buy a bottle of Benedictine, drink it, and then beat her with the empty bottle.

Nuns have ben abusing children perfectly fine as nuns for hundreds of years, and sleeping with other nuns and priests at the parish for hundreds of years.

No real need for them to be priests.

Class, here’s a question:

Johnny in the front row:
Because the Priests can move up the chain of command, teacher! Nuns cannot. At. This. Time.

Bingo! The Roman Catholic Church is structured so that nuns are permanent second-class citizens. Accent on the word “permanent”. I don’t accept for a moment the old Church line that women are equals, just different. Baloney!

A priest might aspire to becoming a bishop, or even a cardinal. But a nun is always a nun. And maybe a lucky nun could become a Mother Superior. But wait. Even a Mother Superior is inferior to the newest priest.

I think we differ on the purpose of Nuns.

Whilst I am no longer in the Catholic Church, I deem the truest serving Nuns as the ones who aside from a mother in the home would teach the value of Truth to children.

I do believe in the oldest sense that women are different from men and that includes Nuns.

The ‘equality’ women seek is often a guise used by Satan to distract and destroy girls and women who would otherwise be a great teacher, motivator, moral and spiritual warrior for the children they are responsible. Corrupt the Nuns and the corruption of the children is not far behind.

Nuns lead the Social Revolt in the Catholic Church of the 1960s-1980s. I was old enough to witness this and see the devastation caused by it. The Nuns wanted, much like Eve, to be greater than their designer and for what...a short flicker of earthly gain? While teaching the children that ‘if you want it, just deny Truth and go for it.’

And we see that in all walks of the Catholic Church, today. From a Pope whose instructions read like a Carnival Madhouse comic book to Bishops having no problem with perversion and Nuns who seek to be able to abortion is a right to be valued.

I believe we differ strongly in our views of Nuns and their reason for existing. Women have always had a separate place of leadership. When Nuns stopped caring for what they were to care for and about and when women stopped being the ones to value life and chose to authorize to kill their unborn a terrible crossroads was created.

I am sorry we differ.

Question: Have you ever noticed that though men kill in war and in haste/anger, it’s usually the women who kill methodically and [usually] with no qualm?

The Lord God instilled in Women the drive to
protect the unborn. When God’s chosen women decided they did not need to teach God’s instructions it was merely the first step down a long, dark and twisted road to social destruction. Nuns are part and parcel of The Lord God’s chosen women. Though there are so many others, Nuns were to have a special place.

Jeffrey Dohmer? Males who abduct children to sexually abuse then kill. lost of other examples of men killing planned and methodically.

Serial killers are a distinct breed unto themselves.

The men who abduct children to sexually abuse them and then kill them are doing the killing almost as an afterthought because they cannot risk the child making an identification. More and more women are now falling into this category as lesbianism and bi-sexuality are [unfortuntately] becoming more accepted.

Though I’m loath to admit it, I would hazard a guess that female sexual abuse of children or other less protected folks is on par with men committing the same crime. The difference is probably the female committing the abuse often will use emotional bonding as a tool.

I think with men it’s mostly about threats keeping folks quiet on the sexual or physical abuse.

I realize my reasoning may not make sense.

A large part is based on the fact that millions of women over time willingly let someone [pay someone] to kill their offspring prior to birth. Very, very few men would like anyone cut on them willingly unless it’s almost a life and death issue.

I remember reading over time that statistically women regret their violent crimes on a much lower basis than men. When a women crosses that line, she’s not just made the irrational choice, she’s actually made a rational choice to kill. Men, mostly, it’s about rage/rejection...spur of the moment...

Ant that, friends and neighbors, is the correct answer. The Priesthood is all about proclaiming the Gospel and serving the community. A Priest is first and foremost a servant of Jesus Christ and of His Church.

The wymyn who clamor to be prysts don't see it that way. The see (or think they see) Power ... and they want some. Like other leftists, they crave power, lust after power, seek power above all else.

From what I've seen of our Protestant brethren the only women who want the job are whacked-out Feminists and Lesbian activists.
