The nations this time that are pulling together an alliance are actually mentioned Prophetically in several books of the Bible. Ezekiel 38 & 39 specifically. They have never before had an alliance. Russia & Turkey have been diplomatically working with Sudan & Libya as well (also mentioned in that coalition). It's not intended to be fear-mongering. Far from it. It's to tap folks on the shoulder and let them know that we're living in some prophetic times and things are about to get ugly.

Ezekiel 38:13 Sheba, and Dedan (Saudi Arabia), and the merchants of Tarshish (Western Europe), with all the young lions thereof (British Empire Colonies?), shall say unto thee, Art thou come to take a spoil? hast thou gathered thy company to take a prey? to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take a great spoil?
