Well and truly stated. Thank you
Truly a horrifying thought.
So much wrong in so few words right out of the gate.
First off, Purgatory is only part of Catholicism.
Second, what is central to Christianity is CHRIST, and the forgiveness and grace He offers us, not suffering in some place never mentioned in Scripture for an indeterminate period of time to work off payment for sin.
This guy may believe in and pushing Catholicism but what he's peddling is NOT Christianity.
I dunno, Mark. If they got there without ever having been taught about it, and thinking only non-Catholics (or non-Jews, or just unaware worldlings) go to Hell, and because they have no one else to talk to, is there a Bible in Hades to learn it from? God Himself does not speak to them, although they may know He exists. I think the passage I quoted and maybe some others may kind of prove that they are hoping against hope, that they will be able to get saved by their works at the GWT (not by simple unadorned trust in the All-Glorious One Who is judging them).
Well, you see the direction toward the scriptures (Luke 16, rich man) that inform my own opinion. It nay be a little more complex than you or I can imagine right now, eh?
You might be right. They may be hoping against hope, that God will make an exception for them, as evidenced by their appeal to their works, which God calls filthy rags. It wont help.
Imagine their horror, at being herded like goats 🐐 by powerful angels, to the edge, resisting all the way, then being shoved over the edge, till they are eternally immersed in liquid fire. My guess is, the pains of hell go to infinity, FAR, FAR beyond anyones ability to tolerate. Why anyone would choose to follow false religions, till they are swallowed up by the Lake of Fire, is beyond me.
True dat.
