NOT ONE of these rabid leftists ever lifts a finger to actually help poor and sick people like St. Damien did. Our community is full of selfless people who donate their time to worthy local causes every week. I seriously doubt any leftist does that because they think it is the job of the government to take care of people.
Why don’t we any statues commemorating persons of color going to Europe to minister to lepers? Instead, those Europeans are always trying to one-up everybody else. How rude!

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is one of those poor slobs who do not know history but try to speak out and stay relevant. Father Damian went to Molokai to serve. Molokai was an island that was strickly for lepers. He served there until one day when he discovered that he now had leprosy. He started his sermon that day with “We lepers”. If she would only look into history before she talks....
Maybe AOC’s statue can be placed in Statuary Hall if she gives as much for her district as St. Damien gave for the Hawaiian people (i.e. personal service in spite of a disease that would ultimately claim her life).
Is that too much to ask?

Hawaii didn’t even become a U.S. territory until 1900 and a a U.S. State in 1959.

Then too, I wonder how many BLM people are in Africa feeding, clothing and helping to house those people - helping with infrastructure like boring wells so they didn’t have to hike ten miles to the nearest polluted stream. Yeah, about that.
