So statistically speaking, you'd be more likely to be correct that a person isn't a believer, than one is.
Additionally, we are to confess that we are.
If someone does not profess to be Christian, there is no valid reason to assume they are. Other than you just want to sound like a nice person by not assuming that they weren't.
But that doesn't change anything about where they really are. It's a kind of Christian virtue signalling.

A female musician was speaking about how the music industry does not teach one about how the throat reacts to constant use and the ‘balance’ one needs to protect their voice. They're all about the next show or tour to generate as much money as fast as possible.....She said she had used drugs, smoke, alcohol and late nights with hang overs and sexual encounters of all sorts........NOW her voice has deepend and gottn raspy....as she said the voice gets 'dirty' and it's ones lifestyle that will change the voice.
