With their line of thinking, God also created pedophiles. Are the priests also going to condone that behavior?

“God loves murderers and rapists too WHO REPENT.”

Well, that’s just it, see.

God so much loved the whole world of humanity that he sent His only Son.
While we were still in our sin Christ died for us.
And, in Christ God was reconciling THE ENTIRE WORLD to Himself.
God’s love isn’t for purchase; it’s intrinsic to His Person.
We don’t get more or less of it out of Him by what we do.
He doesn’t love us because we repent; we are led to repent because we learn that he loved us despite our wickedness.

The Church will never cease to fail with alienated people until She can both communicate and LIVE that message.

Right - but continuing to live in sin keeps you separate from God’s love.

"“God created you, God loves you and God is on your side.”"

Boy, is THAT backwards. WE should be on GOD'S side!

Yes, in the sense that our sin is a self-imposed obstacle to His love getting through to our hearts; not in the sense that He withholds it from us.

It’s the Adam Dynamic: Adam’s sin drove him to separate himself from God, not the other way around. God knew it all, and still came looking and calling out to Adam.

It’s the story of The Prodigal: God The Father is ALWAYS out on the front porch squinting down the road into the distance, waiting to catch just that first glimpse of one of His children coming home. And His response is always the same: a headlong sprint down the drive out onto the highway to sweep us up with tears of joy in His embrace.

And what is waiting back up at the house? FULL, UNCONDITIONAL RESTORATION of relationship; TOTAL reconciliation without reservation.

THAT is what The Church needs to convey to a hurting world: COME HOME TO THE LOVE THAT EXCEEDS YOUR DEEPEST LONGING; it’s NOWHERE ELSE but HERE.

God certainly created them but The Fall accounts for their sin just as it does for our own sins. This is not the same thing as saying God created in us a sinful nature.

Living a Christian life is all about identifying one’s shortcomings, condemning and eliminating them. It is not about identifying with one’s shortcomings and justifying them. One leads to forgiveness, salvation and eternal life through our lord and savior Jesus Christ. The other does not.

God did create them and God does love them.

God, however does not condone their sin.

Funny I did not see one mention of Sodom and Gomorrah in the article. kinda makes you go hmm m!

He was on the way to judge Sodom and Gomorrah Abraham engaged Him on this very point. “will You indeed sweep it away and not spare the place for the sake of the fifty righteous who are in it?,” Abraham asked.

“Yes,” God replied, “For 50 I will spare the cities.” Then Abraham progressively worked the number down until they finally agreed that even if only 10 righteous people were found there God would spare everyone. (Genesis 18:22-33)

Well, there weren’t 10 righteous people there so the judgment was confirmed. But there was one and even though He wasn’t bound to, God insisted that the one righteous person had to be removed from the time and place of the judgment before it could begin. (kinda sounds like the rapture)

The one was Lot. (Genesis 19:21-22)

While looking up scripture for my reply in post #32, I came across this from Jack Kelley. I just had to share it.

We need to remember that while in many ways America is like Israel, the Church is not. First, The Church is not a national kingdom with a homeland and geographical borders.

Our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. (Phil 3:20) He’s not coming here to be with us where we are.

He’s coming to take us to His Father’s house to be with Him where He is. (John 14:1-3) So when He does it won’t matter whether we’re from the United States, the United Kingdom or the United Arab Emirates because the Church is everywhere. God has only established one eternal nation on Earth and that’s Israel.

The Church’s eternal home is in Heaven where an inheritance from God Himself awaits us. (Gal. 4:4-7)

Here is a link to the article Here. The name of it will tick off many here I suppose.

But, none the less it is worth the read. IMHO

Oh and as always be like a Berean.(verify)

“No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him”

How about a stmt from the bishops to traditional catholics stating, “you have worth, you have value and you’re a child of God.”

I’d like to read a very precise, detailed description of exactly what God and Abraham meant by “righteous.”

In my case, it was in a deep ravine in the Rockies, on a warm, sunny spring day.

I’d like to read a very precise, detailed description of exactly what God and Abraham meant by “righteous.”

"Then he believed in the Lord; and He credited it to him as righteousness." Looks like it had to of come from God when Abraham believed.

One thing about "righteous" Abraham had to be put to sleep(not involved) when God made a covenant with him. Only God could keep it. I know I would not be able to.

Genesis 15 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

Abram Promised a Son

1 After these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, saying,

“Do not fear, Abram,

I am a shield to you;

Your reward shall be very great.”

2 But Abram said, “Lord God, what will You give me, since I am childless, and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?”

3 Abram also said, “Since You have given me no son, one who has been born in my house is my heir.”

4 Then behold, the word of the Lord came to him, saying, “This man will not be your heir; but one who will come from your own body shall be your heir.”

5 And He took him outside and said, “Now look toward the heavens and count the stars, if you are able to count them.” And He said to him, “So shall your descendants be.”

6 Then he believed in the Lord; and He credited it to him as righteousness.

7 And He said to him, “I am the Lord who brought you out of Ur of the Chaldeans, to give you this land to possess it.”

8 But he said, “Lord God, how may I know that I will possess it?”

9 So He said to him, “Bring Me a three-year-old heifer, a three-year-old female goat, a three-year-old ram, a turtledove, and a young pigeon.”

10 Then he brought all these to Him and cut them in two, and laid each half opposite the other; but he did not cut the birds.

11 And birds of prey came down upon the carcasses, and Abram drove them away.

12 Now when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and behold, terror and great darkness fell upon him.

13 Then God said to Abram, “Know for certain that your descendants will be strangers in a land that is not theirs, where they will be enslaved and oppressed for four hundred years.

14 But I will also judge the nation whom they will serve, and afterward they will come out with many possessions.

15 As for you, you shall go to your fathers in peace; you will be buried at a good old age.

16 Then in the fourth generation they will return here, for the wrongdoing of the Amorite is not yet complete.”

17 Now it came about, when the sun had set, that it was very dark, and behold, a smoking oven and a flaming torch appeared which passed between these pieces.

18 On that day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying,

“To your descendants I have given this land,

From the river of Egypt as far as the great river, the river Euphrates:

19 the land of the Kenite, the Kenizzite, the Kadmonite, 20 the Hittite, the Perizzite, the Rephaim, 21 the Amorite, the Canaanite, the Girgashite, and the Jebusite.”

As for myself, I find that Romans 4:4-5 helps me to realize that nothing I do in my own strength furthers the kingdom nor brings rewards.

I have found that some of the articles of study by Jack Kelley are very insightful when studying Gods word. Maybe these or others may help you.
