Is racism wrong? “Modern people believe this: man descended from apes. Therefore, let us love one another.”

RE: 99%+ of what I see being called ‘racism’ is not only BS but in no way ‘racism’.

I’m interested in your take actually.

What is your mind, qualifies as the 1% that we can REALLY call racism?

Does making fun of each other’s looks or habits for instance ( what we used to do without bad consequences in the 20th century ) qualify as racism?

If a white girl only likes black guys.. Is that racism?
If a white guy only likes blondes... Is that racism?
If black hands seem less clean.. Is that racism?
If a black mother is embarrassed that her son only prefers white girls... Is that racism?
If a white man is proud of his ethnic European heritage... Is that racism?
If a black family has only African Art and decor in the house... Is that racism?
If a black father tells his son that he should marry a black girl... Is that racism?
If a man wonders about racial differences beyond color... Is that racism?

Race is not color. Color is the least different thing about the different races. We only assign it importance because it is what we see first, it’s a shorthand and lazy way of separating people. The differences between the races manifest culture. One person can adapt and mimic any accent or way of life, but when the group is large it tends to fall back into a lifestyle that the mind desires.
These are not defects, they are evolutionary traits. White people came from colder regions that required planning and pleasure delaying to survive. Genetically they are wired to plan for the long cold winter.

Ignoring these truths is ridiculous virtue-signaling.

Now we’re getting down to the nitty gritty. Evolution from the hog family should be pursued by science just as with apes.

This time I can see some similarities that seem even more plausible for the evolutionists.

Not to mention names of certain politicians bellying up to the tax money hog trough in Washington. And Michael Moore.

Footnote: What is the evolutionary explanation for the totally missing intermediary steps between short, on the ground leaf eaters and the giraffes which are the only ones to survive and reproduce by eating the tall trees’ leaves?

“who try to assert that an evolutionary-based altruism instinct or other such thing impels us to do good to others,”

The golden rule is not altruistic nor instinctual. The reason you want to treat others well is because if you do they’re more likely to treat you well.

It’s just the wise thing to do for your own self interest.

First define 'racism,' a term that has been so overused as to be meaningless.

Second, acknowledge all of human history. We know for an absolute fact that humans existed long before the Christian era. Humans progressed from hunter-gather groups (tribes) to agricultural settlements, to towns, cities, and eventually nations. During all that time, humans always were suspicious of other tribes/groups of humans. War is an ancient human activity rooted in the need to survive and to prevent "the other" from taking the tribe's resources. "Racism" (meaning suspicion of and discrimination toward those not of the tribe) is an outgrowth of that ancient perspective.

So are all those pre-Christian-era humans simply disqualified from Christianity?

“The question is, how does our culture support its ethics without God? “

Easy - enlightened self interest.

Ethics and morality are nothing more than rules for living that are likely to bring long term happiness. All the dos and don’ts of religions (like the 10 commandments for example) fall into that category. But these rules can be arrived at even without religions.

These rules for living have been developed over the millenia through the school of hard knocks. They have proven to work over many generations.

It’s what conservatism is all about - conserving that which has been proven to work. And why it regards radicalism, who want to blow up those rules, its worst enemy.

The real topic of this article is racism and charity toward one’s fellow humans.

Mentioning Darwin and evolution in an article is highly volatile.
I had never delved into that much despite a long ago college class until I heard a priest discuss it recently on a radio show.

The full title is Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favored Races in the Struggle for Life. This led to “social Darwinism” which was not a good topic for egalitarian people.

There and in many other works of the era before the 1960s Civil Rights movement, you will find shockingly racist explanations for the “favored races” and the non-favored races. Author Benjamin K. Hayes even predicted what we call the “achievement gap” in education would last into our century, regardless of universal education laws, and this was despite “the achievements of W.E.B. Du Bois, one of the most scholarly negroes in this country.” Such authors used Darwin to support their own biases, claiming their own race would always be superior.

RE: Such authors used Darwin to support their own biases, claiming their own race would always be superior.

Not Darwin, but EVOLUTION itself — random mutation via natural selection. You can deal with the idea without referring to the man behind the idea personally.

The idea that humans are a member of the taxonomic family Hominidae (whose members are considered hominids, or “Great Apes”) is uncontroversial among mainstream scientists.

That said, you shouldn’t use arguments like “If Man descended from apes, why are there still apes?”. Such a question displays a pretty stark misunderstanding of the very thing against which you are arguing. Even Creation Ministries International, an explicitly creationist organization, says you shouldn’t use this argument: https://creation.com/arguments-we-think-creationists-should-not-use#apes

RE: Ethics and morality are nothing more than rules for living that are likely to bring long term happiness.

And what if a powerful person like a terrorist tells us that HIS ethics and HIS morality bring long term happiness? How is he wrong if we are mere products of the random collision of atoms?

And oh, while we’re at it - why is long term happiness a “good” to achieve over nihilism?

If everyone’s ultimate fate is to go back to dust, I see nothing “bad” in accelerating the process.

Sirs, perhaps there are those among you who believe you are descended from a ape. I suppose there may even be those among you who believe that I am descended from a ape.

But I challenge the man to step forward who believes that General Robert E. Lee is descended from a ape.

“This is why the founders of the United States grounded the equality of all people in God; our Declaration of Independence says, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal”

That was a big mistake and an obvious lie, even if well intentioned, and it’s the cause of most of our problems today. They use that lie to justify idiotic things like “equity” - equality of outcomes.

We are all different, unique - not equal.

I would have said “all men are unique and we should appreciate our differences” or in other words “vive la difference!”

RE: It’s just the wise thing to do for your own self interest.

This assumes of course that mutual survival is the ultimate goal and such goal is “good”.

But given that we are but products of random chance and our ultimate fate is to go back to where we originated from, how is it really “wise” to delay the inevitable?

Vaduz: "If man descended from apes why do we still have apes duh."

frank ballenger: "No answer."

If most Americans are descended from Europeans, why are there still Europeans, duh?
That's part of the answer.
The rest of the answer relates to the fact that humans certainly did not descend from modern apes, but rather from some common ancestors of modern apes & humans.

Speciation occurs over long time-periods whenever two groups of the same species are physically separated and forced to adapt to different conditions.
