Well, sadly, in this modern age, “Christians” seem to have been blessed with an inexhaustible supply of other cheeks. Otherwise they would have gone old testament long, long ago - like say, 50 years ago.
And I see no sign of them running out of cheeks.

Thank godness for its lay employees and pastors in its pension system that it is a sound, clear money-purchae (defined contribution) system, not a defined benefit system and NOT one where new pensioners are dependent on anything but THEIR work-life pension contributions, the investment earnings of those contributions and the actuarially sound limits of how much can be paid out from them, monthly, until they are deceased. That system was founded long before the Liberals took over the denomination and its letters of incorporation and bylaws do not allow it to be changed.

On paper I’m a UCC church member. Last fall hey became ONA and talked bout how it wold attract new members. So far 0 new members and probably 12-8 members died. Weekly attendance has been stagnant or lower.
Not to worry, they recently admitted at they rater they are pulling cash form the endowment, they have 6-8 years before they run out of money. As of now the only reason the lights are on is said endowment.
