A fella Just went through this- cops eventually had to apologize to the street preacher for violating his rights by arresting him for excercising legally his right to free speech!.
He can file a suit, but you can bet that if he does, the cops who are corrupt in the department will make his life a living hell from that point on- not that that should stop him, but just pointing out what will likley happen.
Yeah - and beyond that, the case would probably be thrown out due to the qualified immunity "get out of jail free" card.
The US now has two sets of laws.
Using an amplifier isn’t unlawful, I believe the SC has said so. You always have lefties with a bullhorn in peoples’ ears, nothing happens to them. It’s nothing more than being able to speak more loudly without effort. Unless it cross some decibel level this is nothing more than abuse.
There was no resisting arrest either. They clearly arrested him because they want to shut him up.
He just got a huge badge of honor - most likely has strengthened his beliefs.
The Constitution is no longer the law of the land.
