——>What did Jesus mean when He said, “I never knew you. Depart from me”?

It is this simple, and also why most Christians will not be saved. The standard by which we will all be judged is God’s law. Those who say that God’s law doesn’t apply to them are, in effect, in open rebellion to God.

Matthew 7:23
Depart from me. Compare ch. 25:41. Sin results in a final and complete separation from God.

Iniquity. Gr. anomia, “lawlessness,” or “lack of conformity with law.” The workers of iniquity are “lawless” because they have refused to conform their lives to the perfect pattern set forth in the law of the kingdom of heaven—and “sin is the transgression of the law [anomia] ” (1 John 3:4). On the Mount of Olives Christ said that in the last days “iniquity,” anomia, would abound (Matt. 24:12), and a few decades later Paul observed that the “mystery of iniquity [anomia] ” was already at work (2 Thess. 2:7). SDA Bible Commentary.

1 John 2:
3By this we can be sure that we have come to know Him: if we keep His commandments. 4If anyone says, “I know Him,” but does not keep His commandments, he is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5But if anyone keeps His word, the love of God has been truly perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him:

Revelation 14:12Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

Revelation 22:14Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. 15For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

There is grace, then there is judgment. Those who say that sin has no effect on them because of grace, will not be in heaven. The bible is very clear on that.

Hebrews 10:
26For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, 27But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. 28He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: 29Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? 30For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. 31It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Have you confessed that you’re a sinner, repented and asked Lord Jesus Christ to be your Savior?

We watched a sermon this morning by Adrian Rogers, “How To Prepare For Persecution”. Chilling how pertinent it is now, even though it was a sermon from the late ‘80s.

The whole point of everything is Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior, whom is victorious over all evil. I’ll stick with Him.

I agree. But, without oil in your lamp, you aren’t going anywhere.

Oil: righteous living, obedience, faith, testimony, purity, dedication, good works, and keeping of covenants/Holy Spirit.

Yes, filled with the Holy Spirit. The other good things you mention follow. The fruits reflected in our lives that are pleasing to God, when we are filled with His Holy Spirit. There’s a really good essay on the parable in GotQuestions. https://www.gotquestions.org/parable-ten-virgins.html

Prayer To Be Led (and filled) By The Holy Spirit

Submit Prayer Request
Prayer To Be Led By The Holy Spirit
Heavenly Father, how I thank You that by faith in the Lord Jesus, Your Holy Spirit has made me alive in Him and placed me into the family of God and the Body of Christ.

Thank You, that He has set His seal of ownership upon me and taken up residence within my heart, so as to empower me in my spiritual walk, as He gradually transforms me in to the lovely likeness of the Lord Jesus Christ Himself. I pray that the Holy Spirit would lead and guide me in all things, and that I would learn to listen to the gentle promptings of His voice, as I read Your Word or commune with You in prayer. Give me grace to recognise His still small voice as I search though the scriptures each day and the wisdom to discern Your spiritual nudges, when godly Christians are prompted to offer direction and give me advice.

May I maintain an open heart and develop a teachable spirit, and I pray that I may walk in Your ways and live a life that is well pleasing to You, and glorify my Father in heaven. I ask this in Jesus’ name, Amen
