Western democracy isn’t doing so well in the US.

Church governance — that is to say, Catholic-Protesant conflict — doesn’t have much to do with it at this point.

Church governance — that is to say, Catholic-Protesant conflict — doesn’t have much to do with it at this point.

It most certainly does. do you want to know why?

Look at the Counter-Reformation Spanish Inquisition (initiated 1542), centuries long and as yet theoretically not completed; the St. Bartholomew's Day Massacre of Huguenots (1574); the Guy Fawkes Bomb plot (1605) to overwhelm the British Government, very real and on record backed by the RCC; and, migosh, the almost complete integration of the RCC and the nation-states in Latin America from the time of Columbus until the early-to-mid Twentieth Century, and for all its tyrannical efforts created the high-motivating pressures of social abd political misery from whom the inhabitants are trying to escape by--unlawful immigration to Spain or Italy or Poland?--I think not.

And what is the temperament of the RCC in Northern America? Did not the Pilgrims and Huguenots and Puritans and other Protestants such as the massively persecuted (1709) Palatine German Emigrants that came to the English colonies to escape the unbearable, deadly persecution of the RCC?

Now, take a look at the Supreme Court. Which of the Jurists now even give lip-service to the Protestantism that formed the core of our primary documents that formed the platform of the Government initiated by our founders (and not without very formidable resistance of the still-monarchy-minded influential detractors)? The answer is--NONE!

It is the articles of the Bill of Rights that allowed our citizens to form local regular gatherings of Christ-professing citizens for worship and service, each of which assemblies could be an autonomous, doctrinally different, free to preach whatever they thought fit for their group to keep it together; able if they thought to begin again to organize as extra-church episcopacies or synods or associations.

The marvelous thing that this framework has achieved, revolutionary to old ingrained traditions, is to allow the single individual to exercise his/her own freedom to believe and preach what he wants, change from one church or fellowship to another as he/she chooses, and not answer to anyone except to God for his/her choices.

And that is the way that the churches blossomed everywhere from the prototype local assembly at Jerusalem to many like it everywhere in the world, each governed by a plurality of elders, the local Head of it being the Messiah/Savior Himself, and accountable for nothing but guidance from so many of the holy writings as were still being progressively revealed, until the day that Beloved John the Theologian, put down his stylus, and the Book was closed forever to any further additions.

In this proper Godly scheme of special revelation and application, His Rule was/is letting the Christ-professors to have freedom of speech and freedom to worship or not to worship, to have such Scriptures as you desire, or create your own (Mormons, JWs, Rastafarians, etc.); BUT to be accountable to Him, Jesus Alone, for your discharge of the duties He has assigned.

With this being said, the Declaration of Independence from our chosen Congress freed the colonies from the chains of servility to the then-existing aristocracy of Britain and its religious state organ the Anglican ex-Catholic episcopacy, one which demanded your regular attendance t the State-funded location, whether you liked it or not, or else. The Anglican Church and its clergy finally prevailed after the Cromwell phase was over.

In comparison, with the RCC overarching presence in Europe or Latin America, the individual had no choice whatsoever. Escaping to another country made little difference where the RCC was the compliant ally of whatever dynasty or dictator prevailed in one's relocation.

But all this had existed from 325 AD, when Constantine called the first council of the (unscriptural) bishopric extra-local-church roaming power-seeking overseers, the first steps of making this bundled aggregation of local churches "catholic" (unified), all subjects of the Roman Empire, which was to become in 380 AD the official and ONLY State Church across that Empire. From then on, one who thought differently was ostracized, then later persecuted, and finally eliminated by recanting or death as a competitor to the RCC. This became rock-solid throughout the Byzantine Era, and on throughout the Dark Ages, until the Reformation and Renaissance (= French for "rebirth") of a new culture.

That is the historical mode of the operation of that overwhelming state religion, which virulently penetrated the Protestant-ethic culture of the United States through the augmenting of the labor force by impoverished RCC adherents from all over Europe, who were again to come under the unified rule and primary allegiance to the RCC form of religion, under one globally recognized primate, and thus by solidarity surmount the resistance to a forced political implementation of a state religion, a rejection that would be characteristic of a free society.

Thus I believe that the unceasing undercurrent of the intents of this exclusive religion is to assert itself once more as the ONLY form of Christianity, with the goals of (if possible) forcing the government of the United States to bend to its will, as it did throughout Europe and Latin America, to the agony of the "tired, the poor, the huddled masses yearning to be free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shores, . . ." etc. At first, our Immigration Agency accepted a rationed few from various cultures, certifying that the immigrants would be naturalized and assimilated at a sufficient level not to infect the main body and culture with the biological, psychological, and spiritual diseased environments from which they came.

But now, with unacceptable levels of unacceptably behaving individuals who should have had enough grit to transform their own surroundings, but a great resistance to transforming their own opinions, language, modes of having their needs met, now have undermined the foundations of this once-free, once disease-conquering, once employable, once moral, once charitable, once loyal, once admiring of Jesus and His Golden Rule, now are determined to change all that.

This "slouching toward Gomorrah" is quite opposite to the ideals of the liberty-seeking foundational generation of this nation.

And that is why we are crumbling as a free nation, moving toward a theocracy, or perhaps anarchy, with truly Spirit-regenerated followers of the Biblical Christ being victims of it.

By it the spiritual, moral strength of the population has been diluted and dissipated by the overwhelming numbers of generations that have become agnostics, atheists, members of heathen religions, socialists, and unwanted invaders entering and draining our credit-worthiness beyond the resources that could ever restore it. So there, that's an answer to what I believe is your false assertion.

IMHO.

The entry you give to me is over 800 years old. I am talking about how they interpret the qur’an in today’s time. 800 years ago they didn’t have missiles and there was no Gaza strip. And the qur’an is even more direct in the killing of Christians, even to the point of individual killing:

Koran 3:32 – “Say: Obey Allah and the Messenger (Muhammad); but if they turn away, then indeed, Allah does not love the disbelievers.”

Koran 48:29 – “Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah; and those with him are forceful against the unbelievers, and merciful among themselves.”

Koran 5:33 – “The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His apostle and strive to make mischief in the land is only this, that they should be murdered or crucified or their hands and their feet should be cut off on opposite sides or they should be imprisoned; this shall be as a disgrace for them in this world, and in the hereafter they shall have a grievous chastisement.”

Koran 9:5 – “When the sacred months have passed, slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captive, and besiege them, and prepare for them each ambush. But if they repent and establish worship and pay the poor-due, then leave their way free. Lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.”

Koran 9:29 – ”Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the Religion of Truth, from among the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizyah with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.”

Koran 9:73 – “O Prophet! strive hard against the unbelievers and the hypocrites and be unyielding to them; and their abode is hell, and evil is the destination.”

Koran 9:111 – “Surely Allah has bought of the believers their persons and their property for this, that they shall have the garden; they fight in Allah’s way, so they slay and are slain.”

Their theology is violence and harm to the people that are not part of their sect. And that number has been in the thousands over history in places all over the world with a lot of it in our current time. If you stay current, there is no discussion as to their intent. They kill, harm or cause both to achieve their efforts toward world domination and they do it indiscriminately. Women and children are part of their targets and they use both not caring if they die or not. And that to me is a definition of evil. Religion of peace? I fully doubt it. And the only other “religion” like it is Satanism with it’s bible being written in 1969 by Anton LaVey.

They mirror each other in that violence is their first and last resort to success in their philosophies and that they have a totally inconsistent outlook with the Christian determination of deity from theirs. Plus as both are growing and thriving on the teachings of children in our public schools, they are securing the future of their ability to delve out pain and suffering to anyone not within their beliefs. They are a huge threat to any country in the world; past, present and future.

It’s a problem with monotheism.

If you believe that there is one god, and that the god of your religion is the one and only true god, then there is a marked tendency to go to war against unbelievers or believers in other gods.

Joshua is a litany of war crimes committed by the Israelis in the conquest of Canaan.

Christianity was spread with the cross and the sword.

Islam was spread with the Koran and the sword.

All the while, God set forces and people in motion in order to place before all people, a challenge most important to Him, for each person:

What will you do?

In my study, I have been learning to

Prefer God
Love truth
Be kind

Jesus is living water,
the well of Bethlehem,
by the gate,
satisfying the thirst of David,
nearby the Siloam Pool.

You call it a marked tendency. Why do people have to create harm, torture, or death to prove a theological point. It lowers our status on the food chain and our use of intelligence. War, like imprisonment, is a confusion of repentance and punishment. Which one did Hamas use when they invaded and fired missiles into Israel. And what is the peaceful way to stop it from continuing to happen. Nothing like it has worked for over 50 years and even before with in 1947. If you can come up with a way both sides will work with, you are better than Christ as he had to die on the cross to save mankind. But even that didn’t destroy the evils men do.
