Because the news makes everything sound local and immediately relevant to us, as though we are all only separated by the thickness of the TV screen.
It used to be that here was here and there was there (way over there, way, way, way over there in a different world entirely) and only a large portion of the adult males kept up with the global issues and mostly those that were relevant to our interests, and the news of it was dry and dispassionate, today it is heart-rending and tragic and women and children can weep and demand action to solve everything, everywhere the weeping face seeking camera is aimed.
I will add there is apparently power to be had having your shorts perpetually in a bunch.
We live in very offend-sensitive times, irrational times driven by emotions. Ripe for manipulation by the most irrational, loudest and crazed.
Who really predicted the gender movement and yet here we are with “churches” falling, bowing down before it every day.
And the strength and stridency suggest there is no bottom to the madness, it will really continue till people who admit that it will be the wrath of the Lamb they face will still pray to rocks and hills rather than to the Lord.

People love darkness. As we get toward the end times people will do their darkness more freely.
The world is full of evil.
Why?
Well, because God has given satan free reign over the earth.
For a short time.
I think you’re on to something. I see a gradual decline in popular culture while those who are oblivious to quality clamor to have a part in it. Priorities are out of order. Advertisers seem to want to show consumers a world that doesn’t really exist. Local news media seem to be in the business of lifestyle advocacy with a general bias against conservatism. Non-nuclear family dynamics are not really any kind of “new normal”, they’re only artificially ‘normalized’ by anti-Western, anti-American ideologies and a popular culture which is far too popular among youths who are far too weak and impressionable to develop clear and independently thinking minds of their own. Common sense (the good kind) is prevalent among conscientious observers who see a world of difference between the old and the new. We are looking at how the saying “out with the old, in with the new” doesn’t ring true like it used to. We see it every day. Let there be no doubt that left unchecked and unopposed, this global debacle will lead to actual doomsday scenarios, however wittingly or unwittingly. The future should’ve been slapped out of their hands before they started playing with those matches.
For over four years now, almost everyone who pays attention to what’s going on in the world lives in a constant state of anxiety...
Who’s in a constant state of anxiety? Never understood the whole anxiety shxt people supposedly have over everything, but there’s a drug for that just like everything.
The state of world I could give a rats azz about because I can’t do anything about it. The state of America I’m pissed off about to say the least but it’s not anxiety.

Watched a good movie “News of the World” with Tom Hanks going around Texas during the 1870s reading newspapers to the locals. If we got the news once a month by a guy reading the events to us, we would be a bit less anxious about things happening out there.
