http://www.ccrs.org/believe.htm What We Believe - A Declaration of the Principles of Religious Science
We believe in God, the Living Spirit Almighty; One indestructible, absolute, and self-existent Cause.
This One manifests Itself in and through all creation but is not absorbed by Its creation.
The manifest universe is the body of God, it is the logical and necessary outcome of the infinite self-knowingness of God.
We believe in the incarnation of the Spirit in everyone and that all people are incarnations of the One Spirit.
We believe in the eternality, the immortality and the continuity of the individual soul, forever and ever expanding.
We believe that heaven is within us and that we experience this Kingdom to the degree that we become conscious of it.
We believe the ultimate goal of life to be a complete emancipation from all discord of every nature, and that this goal is sure to be attained by all.
We believe in the unity of all life, and that the highest God and the innermost God is one God.
We believe that God is personal to all who feel this indwelling Presence.
We believe in the direct revelation of Truth through the intuitive and spiritual nature of the individual, and that any person may become a revealer of Truth who lives in close contact with the indwelling God.
We believe that the Universal Spirit, which is God, operates through a Universal Mind, which is the Law of God and that we are surrounded by the Creative Mind which receives the direct impress of our thoughts and acts upon it.
We believe in the healing of the sick through the Power of this Mind. We believe in the control of conditions through the Power of this Mind.
We believe in the eternal Goodness, the eternal Loving-kindness, and the eternal Givingness of Life to all.
We believe in our own soul, our own spirit, and our own destiny, for we understand that the life of all is God.

I thought Della Reese sang the blues?
Is she channeling new age theology from the grave?

I'd comment, but...it's an old thought.

Rev. Della (yes, the singer) is quite alive and well, thank you. The head angel Tess, remember? (I do miss that show.)
As I said on another thrad: Not New Age, New Thought. They are different things.

As I said on another thrad: Not New Age, New Thought. They are different things. No they're not. This "New Thought" of Della's is just as amorphous as New Age is.
IOW, it's spiritual fluff. Lots of oxymorons, and "duhs" ("We live in truth".. what the hell is that supposed to mean?).
I presume the meat is coming.

Della shoulda stuck to singing.

Funny, I didn't think Pantheism was a "new thought".

Who is the grand poohbah of New Thought and what is their playbook?
Who's the leader and what's their bible?
In other words, why should I listen to them?

'New Thought' was real big around 100 years ago. Now it's called 'New Age'. 'Always' something 'New'.

"New Thought" is the result or creation of perpetually advancing mind. Gnosticism is hardly new. All this stuff needs is the word "pleroma" in every other sentence in order to perfectly resemble gnostic scripture.

New Thought and New Age are different things. New Age people are involved with crystals, channelling, and that sort of thing. New Thought does not teach that.
A Unity minister from Florida, Rev. Leddy Hammock, has said that when New Agers come to New Thought churches, one of their first reactions is, "Where's all your stuff?"

Who is the grand poohbah of New Thought and what is their playbook? It's not a hierarchical movement, and there is no "grand poobah." it is a very open movement that stresses self-discovery of the Divine. I'm not sure what you mean by a "playbook." We walk our individual paths together.
It's not about hierarchies or playbooks. It's about doing the work individually in one's own consciousness to become a fuller revealer of Divine Truth.
Who's the leader and what's their bible?
This sounds like the last question rephrased. There is no "leader." it's a very open, decentralized movement. Each o the New Thought denominations has its own particular ledership cadre, but they are chosen by representatives of the membership. What it the New Thought bible? The movement is Western and Christain based, so extensive use is made of the Christian Bible. However, it is not exclusive. All of the religious wisdom of the world comes together in New Thought. Dr. Ernest Holmes, the founder of one of the New Thought denominations, Religious Scinece (Science of Mind), called it "an unusually persistent attempt to think correctly." He also told us that thought produces material conditions. That is an essential New Thought principle.

Sounds like they pick and choose based on their own ideas.
In other words, there's absolutely no reason to listen to them.

On what basis does following the Divine Spirit in our own individual expression and using Divine Power to create our preferred conditions in our lives mean that "there's absolutely no reason to listen to them"?

Because everything they say is based on themselves as their own authority.
Why should I listen to them? Might as well listen to myself.

Back of all, unseen yet all powerful, is the one universal law or cosmic urge, forever pushing and projecting man forward into higher physical, mental, and spiritual development.... ...into the gas chambers of Auschwitz. 1945 was when much of the world soured on the progressivistic idea of human history. Sad to see it's back again.
