Who will Ron Paul pick for his VP? (vanity)

Most of the other candidates are out of money.
Soon it will be only Romney, McCain, and Paul.
The time is coming for them to pick their VP picks. I am willing to bet the first might happen before Super Tuesday in an attempt to get a bump.
The buzz I have heard is around the following potential picks
Mark Sanford, Gary Johnson, Judge Andrew Napolitano, John Stossel
Of them all, I think that Judge Napolitano would be the best pick, from a pure ticket perspective.
I know his foreign policy isn't popular on FR and this post will likely attract a lot of noise from a handful of people dedicated to shouting the Doctor down.
However - he is a Republican candidate, he has the funds to go until the RNC, and it will be time to announce his VP pick soon. Before anyone suggests it, it's not going to be Kucinich. ;)
So think about this - he is the only candidate left in the race (assuming Fred drops out later today, which he likely is doing), Paul is the only candidate left that is anti-amnesty, pro-2nd amendment, anti-abortion, and for limiting the size and scope of government.
Like I said - I'm hoping it's the Doctor and the Judge.
Anyone else hearing any noise?

I know we mentioned Mark Sanford.
What about JC Watts? Would he add value to the ticket?

Wow, was that a picture of Richard Clarke while he was working for the government? He seems kinda young in it. Probably right on the money, though, as it would combine Ron Paul’s pandering with Richard Clarke’s poor foreign policy experience to get an absolutely Dumbo team.

The premise is silly. Why would ANYone announce their VP pick “soon”?
The putative nominee will announce his vice presidential pick next Summer, shortly before the party’s convention. There’s no benefit in announcing soon... especially in January!
To: GovernmentIsTheProblem
Paul is the only candidate left that is anti-amnesty, pro-2nd amendment, anti-abortion, and for limiting the size and scope of government. He's also a cut-n-run islamic apologist.
And a coward.

Kind of hard to call a flight surgeon in the Air Force during the sixties a coward! Not when he says this crap:
Before the U.S. House of Representatives on July 12, 2007 I rise in opposition to HR 2956 which, while a well-intended attempt to reduce our nations seemingly unlimited military commitment in Iraq, is in so many respects deeply flawed.
I have been one of the strongest opponents of military action against Iraq. I voted against the initial authorization in 2002 and I have voted against every supplemental appropriations bill to fund the war. I even voted against the initial Iraq regime change legislation back in 1998. I believe our troops should be brought back to the United States without delay. Unfortunately, one of the reasons I oppose this legislation is that it masquerades as a troop withdrawal measure but in reality may well end up increasing US commitments in the Middle East.

Kind of hard to call a flight surgeon in the Air Force during the sixties a coward!Oh I don't know. I was a Flight Surgeon in the Air Force from 1978-1991. It didn't take alot of courage to get through Medical School, join the USAF and go to Flight School in Texas. Depending upon what type of aircraft Dr. Paul flew in, it was no more hair-raising than flying Delta.
Precisely what did Dr. Paul do during his Air Force Career that was so courageous?

The possibilities you listed are good ones. He needs to select someone young enough to run for prez 4-8 years from now, and someone that holds the same libertarian beliefs as he does, so we'll have a pro-freedom torch bearer when Dr. Paul goes into his well-deserved retirement.
On a related note, I'd like for him to start addressing some of the "important" cabinet positions. Maybe if he suggested appointing pro-empire type persons for State and Defense, he would ease the (small) minds of potential supporters who are wary of his non-interventionalist beliefs.
In general, I wish he'd stop campaigning like someone who doesn't have a shot at the nomination. I know he, and most of his supporters, didn't think we had a snowball's chance when this thing started, but we do now.
It's time to stop being as inflamitory as possible in his statements and time to start speaking like a politician - when you address a nation of gullible sheep, you want to use a soothing baaaaa-baaaaa instead of telling the bitter truth in the most clear and direct of terms.
I'm not saying that he should lie - he probably doesn't know how anyway. I'm just saying that he should tone it down some. We're going to find out soon enough, as a nation, that we're bankrupt and balkanized at home, and overextended overseas.

Just because we kick a countries ass and hang it’s leader doesn’t mean we have to hang out for 100 years. Frankly I’d rather let them figure out how NOT to piss us off again, rather then teach it to them over and over at our cost in blood and treasure. In todays wars the spoils go to the losers. Unlike our current government, Ron Paul doesn’t fear OBL and his henchmen and he knows we can destroy any two bit dictator in 7-9 months.

What about Tom Coburn? Ideologically he’s just about perfect, and he is a Senator, but I’m not sure how many new votes he’d bring to the table other beyond Oklahoma. There’s also a doctor we just elected to Congress in Georgia whose name I forgot, but I don’t know that two House members (one of whom has only been in the house for a year) are a very powerful ticket.

Dr. Paul Broun is the Representative’s name who I’d forgotten. And he’s actually only been a Congressman about six months - he was elected in a special election last summer to replace Charlie Norwood, who passed away. Probably not the best choice for VP today, but he could be another Ron Paul in ten years.
