McCain my not be the perfect Republican, but he sure beats Obama.

While I agree with that statement, how much more liberal are we going to go? After Bush, I was told repeatedly here that we'd get a conservative to vote for. McCain isn't even close. He's even more to the left of Bush. Next time, will I get the choice of a socialist and someone like Pelosi with an (R)? (I used to say Kennedy, but that's a mute point now)

The GOP has never been on a limited government track. Certainly not in my lifetime.

Meanwhile the Dems take over the country, the IRS, the Supreme Court, and the Defense Department.

And if you think the RINO McCain won't reach across the aisle to Teddy Kennedy, you've forgotten how McCain's cheated on the GOP more often than Bill's cheated on Hillary.

I will not accept it. You want to be a quitter and a bitcher, feel free. I will stand and fight. Out of my way coward.

May I ask what you are fighting for? Looks to me like a liberal with an (R). Especially coupled with the fact that you insist on using insults against a poster that respectfully disagreed with you - you are acting just like the libs.

I'm backing McCain because the alternative is unthinkable. But I can face reality and know that he will stab us in the back repeatedly once in office. Amnesty will be in the first 100 days, you know. Now, I fully expect you to unleash your list of insults on me, sans intellectual discourse.

“We have to destroy the party in order to save it” thiking. ... That is so dangerous an attitude that I cannot think that anyone but an irrational person would expouse it.

I guess Washington, Jefferson, and Adams were all irrational then.

I’ve also thought the same when i recall how we got back on track after only 2 years of Clinton and the GOP landslide in DC. With the libs of the supreme court the older/ill ones, chances are good that any appointees will be of them and we can keep our 4 solid conservatives.

However, now I am worried about the extremism of the libs now like obama and his followers who plan to put into place a permanent majority by the following:

1.give into union demands for card balloting, thereby increasing union ( pro-democrat) membership

2. allowing 15 million illegals to become citizens, who will be beholding to the Democrats.

3. opening up the prisons and allowing felons to vote, who are overwhelmingly black (95% will vote for Obama)

4.raising the fairness doctrine so average americans will be allowed only the MSM to hear the news (i.e. - keep them lobotomized like the Dems want)

5. brainwashing of the education system to keep growing more of their kind in our schools(ignorant and victimized)

6. increasing exponentially the size of the US govt, whose employees vote overwhelmingly Democratic

7. my most frightening, which is achieving the magic threshold of 50% of the voting citizenry either working for the Government or receiving welfare from rest of the citizens. Once this threshold is exceeded, we can not go back as there will be always a majority that will vote themselves a raise on the backs of those who contribute.

For these reasons, we cannot accept an Obama election and must stop this monster NOW.

Spoken like someone who wants socialized medicine.

To all the GOP Kool-Aid drinkers: You're too late. What precisely would you call a bailout of $700,000,000,000 of tax payer money to wealthy banks if not socialism?

Which is precisely what's been said since first electing the nebbish Poppy Bush...and how has that worked out for you?

It's worked out so well, that we now have the 3rd most liberal Republican in the senate as our candidate.

Although I agree in part and will be backing McCain so Obama doesn't get in, I have to point out that #2 will happen with McAmnesty, #5 is already there and unlikely to change with McCain, and #7 is close as well. The other reasons are solid.

“I’m voting for Ron Paul, because I want the government to get smaller, not bigger.”

I saw a yard sign which said:

“Use your brain, vote for McCain”

That is my advice for you. McCain has been a force in congress for reduced goverment spending and size. Certainly more so than Obama.

So if that is truly what you want, you would vote for the viable candidate most closely supporting your position.

If you use your brain.

It amazes me that MOST Democrats, and some Conservatives do not get just how dangerous the Junior Senator, and his friends are.

Um, so you think we already have socialized medicine?

Wow. Just wow.

Indeed. And with the suppression of free speech already occurring, we will be sure to see even more big changes in all of our futures.
