A pro-life conservative women's political action committee that promotes what it calls "biblical values" has endorsed Bowling Green eye doctor Rand Paul for U.S. Senate.

A pro-life conservative women's political action committee that promotes what it calls "biblical values" has endorsed Bowling Green eye doctor Rand Paul for U.S. Senate.

In a statement released Wednesday, Concerned Women for America called Paul a "strong man of faith and of conviction." Paul is seeking the GOP nomination for the seat held by fellow Republican Jim Bunning, who is retiring.

Beverly LaHaye, founder and chairman of the Concerned Women PAC, cited Paul's financial support as one reason her group is backing Paul.

I hope Gov. Palin issues no endorsement here. I’ve already stated many times that Junior Paul’s slash & burn campaign against Grayson, which resembles more a nutty religious cultist cause, is damaging party unity, and if he buys the nomination, he’s going to have a big problem in the general, because the Dems will tie him to his father (and that is not currently reflected in the polls, because enough people aren’t focused on the race, yet). I do, however, think Conway will ultimately be the Dem nominee. Mongiardo has become a very divisive figure within the party, largely because of his own mouth getting him into trouble. He and Gov. Beshear hate each other now (then again, might be an extra reason to help him and get him out of Frankfort now, lest that cause Beshear to be damaged for reelection).

I get nervous whenever anyone promotes “biblical values.” No-one really knows if “god” exists, and the bibles telling stories about him are somewhat true — but the great likelihood here is NO.

So why not promote true, rational, healthy, happy values? Why not Greco-Roman values? Why not traditional Western or classical liberal values? Why not the epistemology of reason, the ethics of individualism, and the politics of liberty?

So Grayson attacking Paul is not? Why should Grayson be crowned the nominee? Because McConnell and the NRSC say so?

and if he buys the nomination

Sorry, but Grayson has raised more money as of their last FEC filings (1.2 million to 1.1 million). Guess he's trying harder to buy it. Or are you suggesting only Grayson should be allowed to raise money for the primary?

Lisa Graas is a nut with a blogspot blog though. So I’m not taking that at anything other than a random person with a random opinion. There is nothing wrong with wanting abortion left to the states, that would in effect be the overturning of Roe vs. Wade and the most significant pro-life victory since 1973.

"So Grayson attacking Paul is not? Why should Grayson be crowned the nominee? Because McConnell and the NRSC say so?"

Because he has EARNED the right to be the nominee through his work, having done a credible job over the past 6 years as Secretary of State. KY has not been favorable to electing Republicans to statewide, non-federal office, and he has won twice, including in a bad year for us. He is the candidate who can win in November with the least amount of problems, unlike Junior Paul who just appeared on the scene out of the blue demanding the Senate seat, and for whom has no public record or accomplishments (what has he done for the KY GOP ?). Grayson also isn't part of this nutty fringe Paleo/libertarian cultist movement that Junior Paul represents, which, if he gets the nomination, will likely make it extremely difficult to win in November (current polling data aside, because this is BEFORE the Dems will open up on him). Grayson can win because he has a record of winning and has mainstream Conservative views and is a protege of Sen. Jim Bunning. Junior Paul has no public record and expects us to believe he doesn't share his father's dangerous kook views despite the fact he has his father's radical fundraising network behind him. Yeah, right. If Junior Paul wants to hold office and prove he's not his dad, let him run for a lesser office first and build a record, and we'll take it from there.

My apologies, I didn’t realize you signed up here last month to shill for the Dr. Demento nutter.

Better than “shilling” for C.M. Grayson.

It’s called “support” not worship, n00b. Take your nutter paleosurrenderist messiah and stick it where the sun don’t shine.

Really, you seem pretty fanatical for Grayson. Insulting people and dumping on his primary opponent. That is more “worship” than anything I’ve said on this thread.

Sorry to break the news to you, but we have open primaries in Kentucky. If the majority of Kentucky Republicans do not want Grayson as the nominee, he will not be the nominee.

Nope, n00b, I just don’t want to hand this Senate seat to Jack Conway. This is a Senate race, not a Paleo religious jihad for the Paulbot disciples.

Quite so, and with all your cheerleading for Junior Paul and bashing of Secretary Grayson, the Democrats thank you for all your help in returning the Senate seat to them come November ‘10.
