A pro-life conservative women's political action committee that promotes what it calls "biblical values" has endorsed Bowling Green eye doctor Rand Paul for U.S. Senate.

A pro-life conservative women's political action committee that promotes what it calls "biblical values" has endorsed Bowling Green eye doctor Rand Paul for U.S. Senate.

In a statement released Wednesday, Concerned Women for America called Paul a "strong man of faith and of conviction." Paul is seeking the GOP nomination for the seat held by fellow Republican Jim Bunning, who is retiring.

Beverly LaHaye, founder and chairman of the Concerned Women PAC, cited Paul's financial support as one reason her group is backing Paul.

“We endorsed Rand over all others in the race, because not only is he right on issues, but also because I am convinced he is the most likely candidate to stand up and fight for these issues in the Senate.

“Rand Paul is not beholden to a party or any establishment. He is a fighter, and our issues need more than just another vote in the coming years.”

His daddy is a kook!

I find it hard to believe that he isn’t a kook too.

Is he replacing that dimwit (”I’ll be home for Christmas”) Bunning, who we have to thank for the 60-39 vote on health care?

True, the 40th vote wouldn’t have changed the outcome, but he could have been there to show solidarity. Instead, he just proved unworthy of his Senate seat.

I’m glad Concerned Women for America endorsed Rand, he’s been on Glenn Beck and he won’t stand for what the Republican establishment has done to us in the past. I also gave him a donation and more conservatives should donate to the Mark Rubio’s, Pat Toomey’s, and Patrick Hughes’s (Illinois Senate Candidate running against left wing Mark Kirk.

I’m from Illinois and he would be a huge improvement over Durbin and Burris anyday!!

His daddy is a kook

His father is not running for Senate, Rand is.

I find it hard to believe that he isn’t a kook too

Maybe you should go to his website before reciting half-baked talking points?

Well, he claims to be pro-life, but he also would have voted against the Iraq war.

So, I can understand why [based on his claims] CWA would endorse him, but all in all, probably a chip off the old block.

Well, he claims to be pro-life

There is no "claim" about it.
Rand Paul is pro-life.

His daddy Voted NO on barring transporting minors to get an abortion. [among other things]

(A) His father is not the Senatorial candidate; Rand is. Ron Paul is completely irrelevant in this thread.
(B) Ron Paul voted No because it infringed on states' rights.
(C) Ron Paul also sponsored legislation that would remove abortion from federal courts, returning them to the states as they were before the 1973 ruling.

Like Daddy he is against the war.

Does he also want legalize illegal drugs and prostitution for tax revenue too?

Isn't he as “half baked” as his Daddy? Be honest, for a change.

Rand Paul is exploiting the anti-establishment feelings among the conservative base. Rand Paul could win primary especially if Palin responds to Paul’s request for an endorsement from her.

Dem pollsters in DC are rooting for Paul to win the primary. They think that can tie Rand to his father’s “extremism”. However, polls show Grayson and Paul perform the same against Conway. In fact, it is not clear that Conway will even be the Dem nominee. Conway and Mongiardo are in a very competitive primary.

I think the national mood next year will enable whoever wins the GOP primary to win the general election for the KY Senate race. Therefore I think its safe for Tea Party activists, conservatives, and Palin to use the KY Senate race make a statement to GOP Insiders in DC. That’s assuming of course, Rand Paul doesn’t have KKK members like Don Black endorse him.

Bunning is going senile that’s why they forced him out. He would have lost if he ran again.

He’s had a very good voting record, I’m glad he didn’t indignantly try to hang on.
